Dragon Age Origins for free on Origin

It's not the Ulitmate edition but the regular edition. You can claim it free in Origin right now as part of the On the House games. I already had the Ultimate Edition through Steam Summer Sale but if anyone missed it, you can get the base game for free right now.

Just noticed that if someone owns the Ultimate Edition like the Steam summer sale and installed in Origin using the Steam key then someone who has just the free copy of Origin logs in on the same computer, the free copy gets access to the Ultimate add ons.

A family member is not able to log into Origin to get this freebie so I did it for him. And when I launched his game, it said he had access to my Ultimate items once I opened the game. The Origin client still says his account must buy them but if he plays on my PC, his free copy plays like the Ultimate.

This might also require being in the same Windows logon but I'm not sure.

I have got Steam DOA UE it workes fine, but when I claimed DAO free on Origin my Steam paid version pops up missing EXE.

So I verifed cache and it worked tried it again today and it is missing the Steam EXE again. I did use Origin yesterday for another game not DAO though?

I have no clue as to what is going on?

I just uninstalled DAO via Origin and tried my Steam version and it say it has 18000+ missing files verifying cache and hope that solves the missing EXE.

For some reason Origin free version runs off the paid Steam version I have installed confused.com?

I'm getting the same issue, my guess is that they both use different executables for their own launchers but they are sharing the same files on the computer, so when Origin starts up it recognises that the exe is different and downloads it's version automatically. I have turned Origin automatic updates off and will see if that works as I have been playing the game again on Steam for a couple of weeks now.
