Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Ultimate Sacrifice ending and importing
Right, my question is, if I chose the Ultimate Sacrifice ending, how will that work with importing my character into Dragon age 2? Or is it not possible? I'd like to continue with the choices I made on this guy, into Dragon age 2.

How exactly does it work?

I think its just a save file. That gets imported.
(Awakening just acts weird and pretends your Warden is alive)

DA2 doesn't recognize the choices much anyway, btw. Not a big deal.

DAI uses the Dragon Age Keep, so you manually put in all choices.
I guess it autosaves often at the end, or right before it ends... Couldn't I just do one ending, then reload a save before, then play another ending and so on, and just overwrite the save files?

DAO has a post-ending file.

You can import the ultimate sacrifice character into dragon age awakening....it's pretty funny actually.
well first of all you have a new character in dragon age 2 named hawk but yr choices yoou made are referenced throughout the game and you do have quest that pop up depending on yr choices

Oh, so you don't actually continue as the same person if you survive dragon age: origins?

DAO/DAO-A --> 'The Warden'
DA2 --> '____ Hawke' (with a few other titles over time)
DAI --> 'The Inquisitor' (along with a bunch of other names and titles)

You can continue The Warden's story in the Dragon Age Origins: Awakening expansion, the Golems of Amgarrak DLC campaign and the Witch Hunt DLC campaign, but the Warden is not in DA2 and is only mentioned in DAI.

Hawke, however, is a (non-playable) character in DAI.

A few things I'd like to point out:
A) In Dragon Age II you play as Hawke, not your Warden from Dragon Age Origins
B) If your Warden dies at the end of Dragon Age Origins then you play as a different Warden in Dragon Age Origins Awakening

Wrong. If your Warden dies and you still import into Awakening, Bioware does a derp and lets you play as that Warden anyway.
Its when you play Awakening as a FRESH file that you're given the different Warden, the 'Orlesian-Warden'.

I hate it :( But oh well.

Well I stand corrected then. I assumed it would be like Mass Effect 3 and simply not let you import.

Yeah it was weird.
So if I import my save filed from Origins, into DA2, will the choices I made during Origins show some effects in DA2?

Yes, but not many. DA2 is a largely separate adventure, but with some story ties to both DAO and DAO's Awakening expansion.

(party member Anders from DAO-A is in DA2, and Leliana from DAO appears in DA2)

Choices don't affect much, but they do fashion a little more of a continuity for YOU, as you go game to game.
Right, I am romancing Leliana, and I'm nearing the end, I kind of want to do the ultimate sacrifice ending, but it's been mention if i play awakening, I will magically be alive again?

My question now is then. If I import a save to Dragon Age 2, will it use the awakening save, where I am alive, or will it use the ultimate sacrifice save? I am confused!

The Ultimate sacrifice ending seems like the right choice, but I kind of like the idea of small references on my relationship with Leliana and what not in inquisition and so on.

Can anyone help shed some light on all this? :P
You'll magically be alive in DAO-A, but maybe not in DA2, and you can set yourself to be dead in DAI.

Awakening just doesn't pay attention to that one choice, in the name of letting your character continue for that campaign, is all. The rest of the story acknowledges it. Just pretend that Awakening-Amgarrak-WitchHunt is some weird alternate timeline lol. In Inquisition, you may get Leliana be all 'Yeah he died :(((((' anyway.
