Dragon age broken?

Parts of the game that really should be there just aren't. There are meant to be 3 side quests in the circle of magi, none of which activate at all when i play through it. The summoning circles are not there and i can't activate the statues for the sword in the tower and there are no pages to collect for 5 pages 4 mages. Further through the game, i also found that after doing sten's quest for his sword, that the chest that you are meant to unclock to get the sword is not accessible what so ever. There isn't even an option to unlock it. If anyone knows how to fix these annoying glitches, please let me know.

you HAVE to persuade , bribe or take sten with you and talk to dywnne about the sword and then not talk about anything else with dywnne hell give you the KEY to the chest. After you get the sword then you can talk to him about joining the fight for redcliffe. Do not do them at the same time.

Thats not true at all you can actually get Dywnne to fight, Dywnne can actually die during the fight and you can still come back to get the sword for Sten at any given time, if Dywnne has died the chest is unlocked for you to get the sword, You do not need to have Sten in your party at all and you can just give Sten his sword in the party camp

i might not have been as clear as i should have been. So, let me try and explain it. It doesn't matter how i finish the quest, it always ends up the same, the chest from which you obtain sten's sword after getting the key from the dwarf is acting like a piece of scenery. It doesn't glow like a loot chest should, and there is no option to open it. As in, the chest, as far as the game is concerned , doesn't exist. Also the quests not appearing at all in the circle of magi is really pissing me off now. I'm not sure if it was a bad install, i might try uninstalling and reinstalling and see if that helps. Anyone got any clue as to what it might be if the reinstallation doesn't work?

I have the same problem. I get Dwyn to say "take your sword and leave" but he gives me no key, chest remains locked and there's no conversation ending option yet.. SO then I persuade him to join the fiaght. Still I have no key and chest i locked and I heve no sword for Sten...
