Can't add party members?

So, I've played about as far as the first time you access the Party Camp (first playthrough) and then figured out how to activate the DLC (well, followed a piece of advice I found on an old thread here to run the DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe file, perhaps this was wrong?) I then played on a wee bit, went back to Lothering (can't remember if I changed my group at this point, although I think I did) and freed Sten (changed the group to replace my dog with Sten) then went back to the Camp. When I left, it wouldn't let me add anyone into my group, and all the spaces were empty, so I've only got my main character. I've googled but can't find anything about this issue. Any advice?

I've also tried reloading to my last save before freeing Sten and now *that* won't let me add anyone to my party either, so I can't even go back and play through that last little bit again.

Oh, also, I have zero mods (beyond the DLC) installed.

I've found the game sometimes does that when playing for a while. Save and reload, then try it.

Thanks for replying - I tried that a few times last night with no change, even went back to much earlier saves, no dice. Gave up and started a new character to see if it would work on them (haven't got them quite to the point of having a party they can change yet). BUT, mysteriously, this morning it's working fine, so thanks for the reminder to give it another go! No idea what happened there, hopefully it won't come back...
