Arcane warrior doesn't work

In the lower ruins in the brecilian forest, in order to get Arcane warrior specialization, you need to interact with that phylactery. I helped the thingy and placed it on the altar and said "yes, give me your memories" and then I place it on the artifact. It immediately says arcane warrior is unlocked, but when I go to level up, it's not, and there are no arcane warrior abilities that I can level up, they're not there. Anyone know how to fix this?

It also says I completed the Arcane warrior quest.

You can only unlock it with a specialization point which you get at level 7 and 14, also a character needs to be a mage to use it

I've played this game for over 350 hours, several times as mage, and several times I've unlocked it by doing that quest. I am also playing as mage now.

Oh ok so you're having a genuine problem then, i thought it was a new player asking a question about why it doesn't work and presumed that they was playing as a Warrior or Rogue or didn't know they had to use a special point to use it, the only other thing i can suggest is to reload a save and try it again

You can try switching to a different profile and back, or use one of the mods that unlocks specializations.
