Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Is Gog's Version Really Better?
I have made yet to experience anything bad on ultimate edition via Steam. I think once I couldn't select new game but messing with the options settings fixed it. The game without the dlcs on here though I admit I did run into a lot of issues with. I am tempted to purchase it on Gog as well just in case I encounter any issues. But do I need to? Is DAO: Ultimate Edition really that bad on here?

I have the GOG version and I can attest to it being great. It is completely clean and only the game is run when started, no Steam or any third party client.

Having said that, it recently got messed up with the GOG Preservation update where they modified the installers to force it to only run on 1 CPU core. So until they correct that, I don't recommend purchasing it. In my case, I got lucky because I still have the 2.1.1.5 version which is the one with the forced CPU adjustment.
The GOG version is superior. It has all the fixes that we need to do manually on the Steam version such as the LAA Patch. Their "Game Preservation Program" is a beacon of hope for retro games and the like.

Oh, GoG version better? Imma need to look into that. I am getting tired of crashes and having to exit and reenter every few hours.

Remove the Improved Atmosphere mod if you have it.
