The Veilguard lore destroying Ferelden and Orlais
Eventually, Val Royeaux was conquered by the Rebel Orlesians, and from there the Venatori launch attacks as far east as Kirkwall. The Venatori and the Orlesian royal armies clash daily in Orlais as they vie for the Orlesian Empire. The Inquisitor has sent several Fereldan companies to assist the Orlesian royal armies in the Orlais front, but while the Orlesian troops don't attack them, they refuse to coordinate tactics. Presumably, the history of distrust between Ferelden and Orlais has soured the notion of cooperation between the two nations against a common foe.
Despite winning several battles against the Venatori in Orlais and the Antaam in the Waking Sea,[29] the darkspawn have proliferated to an astronomical rate. The Fereldan Alliance has been forced to abandon villages and settlements across southern Ferelden. The Inquisitor's forces have retaken Skyhold from the demons that occupied it and are using it to shelter Fereldan refugees. The hordes of darkspawn have conquered Redcliffe and the shores of Lake Calenhad writhe with the blight's corruption. The Fereldan land is so corrupted that there are fears that even should there be survivors of the Blight, the surviving Fereldans will die of starvation instead. Skyhold in the meanwhile, has to rely on Avvar and Chasind hunting parties to sustain itself.
What do the DA:O fans think about this? Seems like the nuBioWare devs hate Origins. Do you consider Veilguard canon?

The company made the games so they choose the canon. That said, I tried DAV and, frankly, its terrible story and writing disgusted me. It is an insult to the creative minds that invested so much time and effort into the DA series. If BIoware was smart, they'd find some way to RETCON their DAV game and fix this mistake.

Unfortunately no one with and intelligence is left at BioWare.

I think they didn't even have to destroy Southern Thedas in the first place. There was no need to bring it into the game. But we all knew they did it intentionally. Just to cut all ties with the previous setting and characters that were there. To start something new in the future. Yeah, right. We'll see about that now…

It pisses me off that they brush all criticism from old fans and numb it in our faces, "Oh, you care about this place you loved and cherished so much? Yeah, we don't care. Now look how we destroy everything." And the people who defend this decision are even worse than that.

As for the question… No, I don't acknowledge its existence and already make my own headcanon. :cfacepalm::2015candycane:

And some of you wonder why, all of the people involved with DAO were let go, quit, or moved on from what is left of bioware. David G. the man responsible for all the Dragon Age lore, left because they upended all of the laid lore for the games, he is disgusted and quite angry about it.

All of the fans are disgusted as well. Complete destruction of a once beloved franchise. The only worse incident of lore destruction is what they did to Lara Croft.

Everything after DA:O isn't canon for me so the choice is easy for me.

The thing is Dragon Age is dead and there won't be any new game. I don't even want a new DA game from current BioWare.

All true fans. People on reddit and BSN.board.net who defend DA:V are not fans.

I personally concider only DAO and DA II as normal games, which means as canon too.
In other half it becoming a garbage.
We don't need it.

The lack of adherence to the established lore started with Inquisition. There wasn't much uproar about it back then so now you have even more deviation.

Um, what is the quote from? It reads like a bullet point list.

The DA wiki.

The utter abomination that has been called "Dragon Age: The Veilguard", will never be cannon because it completely and utterly ignores everything done previously by much better developers! I have no confidence in BioWare's ability to every come back to this franchise with any resemblance of its beginnings! It is just another example of the predatory and destructive nature of EA.
