I get this error every time I click play:

Error: Switch from current encoding to specified encoding not supported. Line 1, Column 40 in inter XML settings.

I just finished downloading this and tried to play it for the first time.

Please follow these steps to make sure you have done everything correctly:

1.

- Go to your Steam Library,
- Right click on Dragon Age:Origins - Ultimate Edition ,
- Click on Properties,
- Go to Local files tab,
- Click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

It will scan your game files and automatically restore if there are any corrupted files. You can do this with any game you have on Steam.

- Exit Steam completely.

2.

- Close the game
- Go to this folder

  \Steam\SteamApps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\redist

and run the file named

DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe

Let us know if it works.

Sorry to say that none of the things you have listen helped,i still get the error message when i start DAO,thanks anyway.

What are your system specs including your operating system and your selected language and region?

Windows 7 64bit Professional
2x AMD Radeon 6850
Steam and all steam related files are installed on secondary 1TB hard drive, with Windows running on a primary 128GB SSD hard drive.It should be in english and the region is ireland.

If you cannot find any solutions. There is still something you can try.

If you create another Administrator account on your Windows and install the game under that account, it might work. At least for a temporary solution until we can figure out how to fix this, it might be acceptable.
