Soldier's Peak game crash help?

[Traveler]

So I go to Soldier's Peak, help Sophia kill the Blood Mage, then she says she'll start the procedure and I'm suposed to protect her; but nothing happens. She just stands there, I trid standing on the 4 spots but that does nothing. I exited the door down and then came back; the game then gives me her cut scene over and over and over, even the esc key does nothing. I have to use the task bar to shut the game down.

Do I have a bad save? Is this a known issue? I've had no propblems of any kind before this.

Help please

it might be the lag issue. if you play for a prolonged amount of time the signature "Origins Lag" sets in where the characters and everything are severely delayed. just save and reload and it should be fine. If that doesnt work, i have no idea, ive never had that problem

What about Addons? you have any of those? i had problems like this when i have a couple addons. then again my problems happened in Denerim

I'm running the "ultimate" addition which hass all the addons.

Well I tried an earlier save and went with the bloodmage; same thing happened. I simply cant get the "close rift" fight to start.

I've run file verify twice.

The Ultimate edition. has all the DLC. Addons are things you download elseware and add to the game..

uh, no i meant addons. because you add them on your game. but then i have no solution for you. did you try google yet?

Got the same problem. Can't finish that quest.
Also the quest where you get Shale doesn't show up.
I picked up loads of kit for him but couldn't start the quest. The place never showed up on the map.
Quit the game in disgust...

Hmm.. I had no trouble getting Shale, and I just finished her "memory" quest.

This game is in my top 5 ever played. It made my eyes water up. I nearly cried toward the end.

I had this problem, and searched all over the web for a solution. The best way I found to fix it is to do the Stone Prisoner DLC first so that you have Shale when you go to Soldier's Peak. When you enter that part of the battle and she does nothing, have Shale throw a boulder at Sophia/Avernus to move them into the casting circle. It will start the battle script, and you can finish the quest. I've used it to get through with the quest no matter who's side I chose.

You can also try disabling all DLC except Soldier's Peak. It has worked for other bugs I've come across. I realize we all expect finished games to work perfectly, but bugs happen all the time. There's no sense in letting good games collect virtual dust because we're too lazy to try a workaround or two.
