Which one were you using when you crashed ?
You can try the other one now.
Edit: Updated the links
But more seriously, sorry, I don't know of any mods. I don't see it as totally unreasonable (spiders are minor enemies and shapeshifting skills, nothing more) to want one, but I can't help you there.
Ultimately you really do have to face your fears though (*gets reported*). I say this as someone with anxiety and my boyfriend who has experienced mild to severe OCD.
and people, please stop bashing the OP. If you don't know a mod and cannot help, do not write just to raise your opinion. OP already told that s/he doesn't need any 'get over it' posts.
Phobias are dangerous psychological problems. DId you know that under certain circumstances phobias can lead to death ? That might be a rare case but phobias are no where near normal scares.
Yes, you may have overcome your own fear but you must understand that each person is different and each person goes through different phases until they overcome their fears. Most phobias are caused by relating the object or the act with previous experiences. You cannot know what each person has gone through and at which stage their phobia is.
Treating phobias must only be done by professionals because phobias can have very powerful and intense effects on the individual both biologicaly and psychologically, short and long term.
Phobias can cause deaths; it is true. You should understand that even though some phobias might look absurd for you such as fearing spiders, harmless little animals for you, the person with that phobia may also be aware of this but since phobias are a reminder of past experiences, the feeling of fear is usually very real and at that moment it might be difficult to think logically. A good example for that can be this person[www.dailymail.co.uk] who was 76 years old when he commited suicide because he thought a spot on his skin was cancer and he didn't go to his appointment with his doctor because he had a phobia of doctors.
You might think that this is an extreme example but don't forget that phobias are extreme reactions shown by our bodies against fears; real or imaginary.
If you read this article[www.psychologytoday.com] , you can see that fear can kill you. Most phobias are capable of triggering panic attacks which might cause cardiac arrests and hyperventilation which may be lethal. These are only the biological effects phobias can have on the individual but there are also psychological effects which are anxiety and in some cases even PTSD.
Now I understand that you might have gone through a similar experience but please understand that your experiences may vary greatly with other people experiences who also had the same fears as you and people who suffer from different phobias can have very different experiences than yours.
it is truly beautiful when ignorant people talk about subjects they dont understand .
Yeah people are different , we have different fears . You can fill a book with my phobias , hell im even scared of driving , dirt , dog poop, etc. What makes you think i dont know what absolute terror feels like ? Ive been shot at , im terrified of needless and pain but donated blood multiple times . Again if you dont confront your feers you cannot live a normal life .
Worst thing that hyperventilation can do to you is carpal spasms , ERs got plenty of those idiots . If you are young , healthy and you go to ER crying about hyperventilation triage nurse will put you on six hour wait before being admitted .
Also try reading your own sources : lady in elevator died for heart attack because her coronary artier were clogged . If you have cloged coronary arteries any form of exitiment which increases your activity can triger AMI . Walking up stairs can kill you . This is a very popular fallacy were people try use articles that barely relate to their argument for support.
The woo-doo example is interesting but very rare cause where you believe you are going to die to the point when you put yourself into psychogenic shock . Basic fear of pixilated spiders is not going do that to you .
Yes I'm sure you are going to have expert sitting with you every time you are scared of things . Its natural human response of fear poisonous things , but losing your mind is unnatural .
PTSD caused by extreme psychological trauma involving EXTEREMLY traumatic experience such as extreme violence and death . People who've been in deadly car crashed ,vets , police and emergency workers can develop that due to extreme violence and death they can witness. Like little girl being squished by a trash container ,yeah that will give you PTSD . being scared of arachnid is not really an excuse to develop PTSD .
lol that more or less happened to me. My first really significant panic attack happened in the middle of the night and I was worried that I was dying or something.
Waited for several hours, and got picked up to go home in the morning. Examinations showed nothing.
If anything, they were probably worried about me looking like a mess. When I'm stressed and/or tired and/or having had a bad run of a few days (due to bad sleep or food or lethargy), instead of looking good, I look like I'm high and significant shadows appear under my eyes. I must have looked insane when I was admitted into the hospital, but it really was just myself letting my anxiety get the best of me. I've tackled it better since.
