Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Game Breaking Bug - Final Mission (Spoliers)
I just defeated the general in the alienage, and I head to the palace to get stopped and defend the gates (naturally). All goes well, until about halfway through the fight to defend the gates. At that point, all of the members of the party with my main character on the way to the palace join the fight except for the actual main character, kicking out all the previous members of the defending party except one (seems to be Oghren every time). Also, all of the darkspawn in the area stop attacking and become friendly. They just stand there, doing nothing. There is literally nothing I can do to get by now. What I've tried:

1) Talking to the officer, he just yells a generic line.
2) Console command: "runscript killallhostiles" - no effect.
3) Reloading a save before the enemies arrive at the gates.
4) Reloading a save in the alienage.
5) Reloading a save right before the final mission even starts (right before you talk to theArl in Redcliffe).
6) Scouring the web to see if anyone has this bug (no one that I could find has it)

All to no avail. I don't know what to do..I've poured about 45 hours into this save, all to loose it to this one bug an hour from the end of the game. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I've been using "runscript attack (creature tag)" to force the darkspawn to attack me... It's worked well until now. There are 5 enemies left, 4 hurlocks and 1 genlock, but I cannot for the life of me find there tag in this list: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Creature_tags_(Origins)
I've tried all of the core ones, but they don't become hostile like the others have.
The enemies are:
-3 enemies titled "Hurlock" with a mace and a shield, hurlock_mace_shield hasn't worked.
-1 enemy titled "Hurlock" with a sword, hurlock_lsword hasn't worked.
-1 enemy titled "Genlock" with a dagger, curious because same enemy type work with genlock_dagger but now this one won't budge.

I've solved it. Basically I just spammed "runscript_killallhostiles" at the beginning of the fight when they were all pouring in before the game could glitch haha. I'll leave this here as a journal of my findings and if anyone else encounters this.

I am having the same problem, but unfortunately the solution hasn't helped me any. I've tried reloading as far back as the before the Alienage fight (but not further yet). I get an ogre, an emissary and an alpha (as well as a ton of grunts) but after that no more enemies come and the messenger doesn't appear. killallhostiles will only kill the hostiles that are currently on screen, and the debug glitch doesn't even activate during this fight. I'm at my wit's end!

I tried the Hold the Gates quest again with an old save game (a completed playthrough) but the issue was there as well. Figuring that it was a game problem and not a save game issue I tried to uninstall the game and reinstall it but the bug persists!
The darkspawn will not continue to spawn and I cannot complete this mission. Frustrating!! :(

I should also note that my problem is different from the OPs in that the darkspawn don't turn friendly. They just stop appearing. The soldiers tell me "Here they come!" and "Defend the gate" or such when I click on them but there's nothing to defend from.
