Dual wielding suits slightly better for rogues than warriors thoug, because other warrior talents and specilizations rely to strenght, where dual wielding relies heavily on Dexterity - Riposte to high Cunning.
However, dual wielding warrior is certainly not a moot character and could actually be quite interesting to play. I hope you are having fun with that. :)
I am always heading to Circle Tower from Lothering. I can't see your gaming experience from private profile, but there is a character in the tower that I would rather take with me early on - if only to make sure that talents from level ups suit my party needs.
Dwarfs are good for Rogues and Warriors because their Racial makes something like one in five spells have no affect
If you choose to go for the Dwarf as a DW Warrior then choose the Dwarf commoner because they start with a talent already in the DW section so it gives you a head start, the Dwarf Noble warrior starts with one in sword and shield
If you were to choose an Elf then city Elf would be your best choice because they too start with one ability in DW
If you want a high damage character in awakening, go ranged. Use rapid aim stuff (it stacks), aim and accuracy. You will have (over) 100% crit chance with increased crit damage. Like 250 per auto-shot with main characters and over 200 with party members. It is completely broken, even more so that you can re-spec your skills in Awakening.
PS:I never actually tried doing it since I almost always do Awakening solo.
The survivability is actually very comparable, as there are no gear restrictions. Also do not underestimate defense, its a very powerful stat.
Best thing to combat that is a mage (character or companion) with proper amount of spirit spells. Otherwise Alpha Orgre will keep on bashing your tank, until he kills him/her.
He says, after getting Alistair knocked down (again) do to not progressing with Spirit spells for Wynne early enough. I really should have known better.
Oh well. That was yet another experience. :D
I have never made a solo game. I always build my crew to keep their grown on their own. Solo game is something that I may need to do.
I am really busy with Skyrim - both forum and the game. It has been time since I last played DA:O, before I restarted the game this summer. Seeing how Skyrim mod updates that I am expectin will still take their time, I will likely take your idea of soloing and try to finish DA:O at least at once like that.
