Gosh I completely forgot it existed, you are right, definitely after the main game, even though doesn't really matter when.
In terms of gameplay, each area is ranked by how strong enemies are. That order from weakest to strongest is the Circle Tower, Redcliffe, Brecilian Forest, Haven, and Orzammar. Enemies have a range of levels they can be, and the Circle happens to have the lowest range (it also has the free attribute points and the support companion, both which are ideal early).
DLC can fit anywhere, and are recommend done early for the powerful gear.
Elves also give you access to unlimited items for crafting healing potions. I stop by there first even If I do not plan on actually doing their quest till later.
Redcliffe is easier to do early, but like the tower it pretty much locks you into staying there until you are done. Orzammar and the Forest you can do part of the quest and leave to do other things which delays getting ambushed by a certain clumsy assassin.
Best reasons I have found to do Tower early is that you get stat points, wynne and with the way the enemies scale with you. It is often easier to fight the enemy mages earlier then when they are higher level.
IDK why many ppl are saying Orzammar should be the last. It doesn't fit on plot after or before any other quest.
If u're gonna recruit Wynne, u should go to Circle of Magi just after leaving Lothering. The same if u're recruiting Shale, go to her quest before Circle of Magi.
Apart from that, I don't see any relation at all on quests order inside Origin.
Oh, one more. The game is very very long and u may end up taking a break and coming back to it months later. Don't do Return to Ostagar before doing at least 2 main wings or 1 wing and a bunch of side quests, as it's way more fun if done after some time played. But also don't wait months to do it, as u'll lose the intense effect that Ostagar battle caused on u. The optimum would be u not even knowing it exists and stumbling upon it, as I did. Alistair also vets it out on early Lothering, it doesn't fit the lore to give up on it and then just go there a few days after.
For those choosing paths based on battles and not lore, just get Character Respec Mod. It allows to reset spec of any char and build it as u'd fit, instead of being locked with Wynne as healer, Orghren as berserker, Alistair as tanker, etc. It also teaches specializations, if ur profile doesn't have them and u want them as lvl7 one. Just be careful that it loses a few attribute points during reset, sum them before doing it and use console dbg_setattrib script to take them back.
Keeping it spoiler free Orzammar was designed as a last stop before the final steps, that's why enemy cap level has a upper limit, you can check here the cap order (it contains SPOILER for those that haven't played): https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Main_quests_(Origins).
However could still be tackled at any other points without problems obviously.
Redcliffe kind of fits anywhere story wise, it's located in the middle as for lavel cap order.
