Reaver/ Templar Build.
Last time that I played this game extensively was like 10 years ago. I forgotten a few things, however I do remember not liking Reaver very much as I thought it's gameplay was very niche and incredibly risky.

But I'm thinking of giving it another chance, by combining it with Templar specialisation and investing many points that I can in constitution. My rationale is that the high constitution will allow longer upkeep of Aura of Pain and obviously make them harder to take down. And by being a Templar, I can get access to the Knight Commander Plate for that sweet +40% spell resist. I am going to be a Dwarf sword and shield warrior and will be equipping items to get 100% spell resist. I am the tank, and as such I want all enemies, even mages to focus on me, while the rest of the team takes them out.

What do you guys think? Is this a solid strategy/ build? Feel free to offer any suggestions to make it better. Thank you.

I think whatever you gain from Aura of Pain uptime wouldn't make up for the lost damage from strength. If you're gonna run the aura, I'd just keep Regen spell cast on the reaver. You could try to carefully balance healing to make good use of Blood Frenzy, but it'll never be as good as Berserk. Frightening Appearance is kind of nice though.

Well, I found the heal from reaver to be very good. It has 0 cast animation and an instant heal. If there are 2 or more corpses it can heal for more than 1/3 of your life which is really nice if you are tanky.

Strenght is just vastly superior to con though. You get both more damage and more armor options, and armor is very good in this game. I would focus on strenght and try to get the ring that gives you +10 con I think if you want to be really tanky.

Templar is honestly worth it just for that armor, it's so amazing and looks great too. Cleanse aura can be very useful in specific situations and holy smite is fun.

I do use combat tactics though so I don't quite remember how vanilla combat worked.
