Dragon Age Awakenings Nathanial Howe
I've just completed my first playthrough of Origins, started it many times but always suffered from a sort of game fatigue part way through.

Anyway, I completed Origins and started Awakenings. The question I have is concerning Nathanial Howe. I have him as a party member and it seems he won't use melee weapons. I started him with a sword and shield as his first set, no use. Then I switched to Dual weapons as that is part of his skillset, but he keeps defaulting to using a bow. I only have finite arrows and want him to be a melee fighter, is this a bug or what?

Check his behavior and tactics. If he's set to use any bow abilities he will keep pulling out the bow.

Agreed. The devs designed Nathaniel Howe as a ranged combatant, since Oghrin already fills the melee role. Because of that, Nathaniel's tactics are based around ranged combat. You'll have to switch them to melee mode.

I'm an old timer retired PC Gamer returning to DAO, and it's amazing and heartening to see & experience the devs still involved & updating this masterpiece. Keep on keep'n on team.
