missing dlc fix

I figured I'd post this to help anyone who runs into this issue

I reinstalled origins today to give it another playthrough, I've owned the ultimate edition for several years on steam and have never had an issue with it. today all of my dlc was missing and I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out the issue running through several old posts troubleshooting the problem.

eventually I found out that the ea app that replaced origin was the root of the problem, even though it was never linked to my ea account and owned solely through steam it still locked off my dlc. to fix it I had to boot up the ea app and repair my game files. I figured this might save someone from a bit of headache and frustration.

How did you repair the game, since it was not linked to your EA App? Have the same issue, no solutions worked for me thus far.

Ridley did you see the redist folder? where you can run the DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe and the DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe
^This one actived the dlc for me

Nah, these two files did nothing.

It turned out, my Addins.XML was damaged, so the game didn't know that DLCs could be activated. Downloaded a fixed one, replaced the broken stuff. Boom, worked.

I used the repair in the ea app. I tried repair through steam initially but it didn't work. had to do it through ea app
