"canon" builds for all companions ?
So im wondering if its possible to do a run with all "canon" builds for all characters, not only taking into account the cinematics but also the dialogues and actual starting abilities. Im talking about specializations, and also spell schools for each character.

Morrigan: Shapeshifting blood mage
Alistar: Templar champion

The warden will be a non meta strenght rogue dual wielding swords with medium armor.

etc...

If its not against any dialogue that might appear in the game i would consider it inside the "canon" spectrum, for example Leliana being a ranger as a second specialization, i dont think its a wrong aproach, but there might be a better choice.

What are your insights on this ? i will be playing on Normal difficulty so builds can be forgiving and i would mostly use warden/morrigan/alistair/leliana as the main party if i can manage without heals somehow, if not i have to bring in the old lady into the mix.

Last playthrough i used to be a warrior tank, with oghren, leliana and wynne and i had a really hard time in some fights against various oponents due to the lack of cc or aoe spells, my warrior didnt do any dmg, and the dwarf was getting down pretty quickly, only leliana stood there doing dmg and it wasnt enough, even on normal difficulty.

Solo wardens can complete the game, therefore any party that isn't deliberately sabotaged can also succeed. If you don't have a healer, teach someone herbalism and make stronger potions. Keep all warriors suited up in massive armor even if they're not the designated tank. The solution to a warrior with low damage is more strength, but shield warriors will always be a little behind the curve.

The problem with potions is that i dont have enough materials to craft them, i bought all potions and all materials i could find up to level 15, i did Magi then orzammar, and i finished orzammar with 0 potions and it was an absolute pain, and thats counting i had to forcefully cheese the last fight, kiting the boss like a cheater to be able to win with the last 7 great potions i had, it felt so wrong.

You can buy infinite elfroot from the Dalish camp, infinite concentrator and distillation agents from the Denerim tavern, and infinite flasks from a few places, cheapest at Figor's shop in Orzammar.

The final boss hurts a whole lot less when you have spirit resistance. You can pop a Greater Spirit Balm for 60%, or wear the Corruption helm you picked up on the way there for 75%.

Thanks! well the idea now is then going to dalish quest first or second, so i can stock on potions and avoid bringing wynne everywhere, not that i dont like her, but i hate to be dependant on a companion

I do tend to do the same, play them as they are intended; when you "test drive" a newly rescued or met companion, and you see their perks skills and attributes, I think we all tend to keep them as they are and develop them further in that arc, not just to be canonical but because of all the spare gear you can't use as-configured currently.

eg. "I'm sick of carrying this 3-runeslot dragonbone 2H magic sword everywhere taking up inventory, lemme put it on ... HEY THAT GUY Sten the Qunari uses 2H weapons!"

I play on ludicrous stupidity aka nightmare difficulty, because I'm an idiot and a glutton for punishment, but don't have the potion rafting problem you have, maybe I'm more exploratory and enjoy the grinding than you do? I still enjoy rando world fights, for example, after hundreds of them.

Just a note that Morrigan can do almost as much healing as Wynne can. Everybody hypes up Wynne but the reality is any mage who invested in Regeneration can heal just as well. They all have the exact same spells. Spirit Healer is nice to have but not really needed unless you're dying a lot but that indicates a different problem. Of course, one advantage to Wynne is that she's got her Super Wynne mode.

Yeah but the second time you meet Morrigan she states "Im no healer" so basically i rule all the healing spells out of her due to roleplaying purposes.
