No permanant stat boosting console commands?
Hey, I recently got Dragon Age Origins on here since I lost my 360 version, and I know that you can ultalize the developer console to give experience, add skills, add items (with a mod), etc. However, one thing I noticed from the lists that I have seen that there isn't a command that allows me to permanantly change my stats.

I know that "runscript dbg_setattrib [attrib] [value]" exists, but from what I've read, it only provides a temporary buff, not a permanant change.

Is there a console command that I don't know about that will allow me to change my stats to whatever values I please? Or am I mistaken about "runscript dbg_setattrib [attrib] [value]"?

Thanks for the help.

Not that I am aware of. Attributes are based on origins (race/class), level, tomes, essenses/fonts in the Fade and equipped gear, meaning the bonuses are added from plot points in the savegame of a character.

Besides, you can respec or shuffle them around via Manual of Focus in the Awakening, or Respecialization Mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/14/?). So, I guess, there is no need for permanent changes in developer mode.

You can change your level to get more points, so try using:
runscript roguex # - Makes player a Rogue with level #
runscript warriorx # - Makes player a Warrior with level #
runscript wizardx # - Makes player a Mage with level #

Be aware that these commands will reset your origins and distributions to defaults.

Seriously, why do you need to give bonuses or cheat to play DAO?
With all the promo and DLC reward items, the game is already overpowered right at start.
I recommend roleplaying in character and not use such items to enjoy the game properly.

Edit: Found a mod to add new console commands to meet your desires.

Thanks. I have invested plenty of hours before in DAO, even with the DLC items, but this is the first time I am playing it on a PC, so I wanted to see how far I could manipulate the system with console commands.

I’m 5 years late to the thread/discussion but to anyone who currently wants a way to gain attributes permanently through cheats, I have a method.

(Please note you must already have the command-cheat-thing "unlocked")

It uses the “add item” mod which allows you to spawn in as many “attribute books” as you want (you can just google the id code name for it). It’s a little time consuming to use if you have a lot of books, but if you just put them in the hot bar and click repeatedly, it’ll go faster than just clicking in the inventory.

The book is called “Tome of the Mortal Vessel” and the command you would type in is:

runscript additem gen_im_qck_book_attribute.uti (number you want)

If you’re having trouble with the add item mod, then remember that you must put a space after the number at the end of the command.

Here’s the mod page link:

https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1131/

This works for both Origins and Awakening- Ultimate Edition too for anyone who may be worried.

I, personally, love to mess around with cheats after I’ve finished a game- just to see how far I can push my god complex ✌️😳✨so I can understand wanting to do this.

Btw the work while worth it to do and good to do for learning and all that.

You can very easy simplify it and just look up Duplicate glitch and use it on the book, it very easy to do (basically just manipulating selling/buyingback same time).
