Prison Break Only Uses One Character?
So, I'm up to the part where Alister and I are imprisoned, and I want to wait for my party to rescue us. But no matter which 2 party members I chose, for some reason the game only actually has one member show up, and they talk like they're waiting for an invisible party member to respond to them, but there's nobody there in any of the cut scenes, just long pauses of dead air, and after the cutscenes there's still only one character. I've reloaded the scene from just before we get captured like 5 times and chosen different combinations every time, but the 2nd person never arrives...

Has anybody ever experienced this? Is there any work around that you know of?

Well you can always choose to bust yourself out from prison. it is not required to send any of the party members out. As for why that is happening i have no clue. I know alot of people have different isues with the game.

Yeah I know I can break out myself but I wanted to send in the cavelry and see their cool bluffing skills :(

True Oghrends bluffing skills are a sight to be amazed by. But i shamefully know of no way to help.

Just a thought...do you have good approval ratings with the party members? I think..could be wrong...there is an approval check for the dialog about whoever will come to break you out. There are a number of bugs that can happen...just a guess though.

Are you using mods by chance?

Yeah. I'm well past that point now so I couldn't tell you what if any of them were causing an issue with. Mostly it was just a mod that made Arcane Mage not ♥♥♥♥, and another mod that let you summon the Dog as a summoned creature with an item rather than have him take up a party member slot.

This is a few months old but I figured I'd post the solution to this problem anyway.
The conflicting issue is the mod 'Extra Dog Slot'.

Simply exit the game in in the main menu click 'downloadable content' then scroll down and uncheck the Extra Dog Slot mod.
Now the two characters should show up for the rescue. You may have to start a save that takes place before initiating the cutscene where you're caught, I'm not sure.

The problem with the dog slot mod, is when you take a party member out, the dog takes up a party slot, but is invisible. Normally you'd click on the dog in the party selection window and he would sit down and you could choose someone else, but since the process is automatic, it has the invisible dog rather than the second person you picked.

Thanks for this, but when I uncheck the dog slot mod and try to load my game, im told there could be issues. I force the load anyway, but the dog is miraculously still there and only one character shows up to the captured quest

I've not used the mod, only read about it, but my understanding is you don't need to uninstall the mod, just use the whistle to dismiss the dog, then get captured. I wouldn't try summoning him again until you've completed Captured! completely.

the problem is even if you dismiss him he still takes up an invisible slot so im sure the same would happen. i tried disabling the mod, didnt work, and then i tried dismissing the dog, deleting the whistle AND disabling the mod and it also didnt work, so just dismissing him and keeping the mod enabled wont work either. the weird thing is that im told to reenable the mod, i say no, and yet the game proceeds as if the mod was never disabled it in the first place

nvm, fixed it
