It's the first difficult fight that your home in the game that crossing the bridge episode in the wilds. There's two problems first is the emissary as you said, the second is the traps that stop your troops moving. One of your party members if not your own player character should be a thief. Their job is to find where the traps are. One of the earliest things to improve with any thief character is their lock picking and trap detection skills. Hopefully you should have at this stage someone that can find the traps before you step on them.
The second issue is the emissary.
Missile troops are the best thing to deal with this or another magician. Because every time you hit him that stops him from casting a spell so the objective is to keep hitting him from a distance and not letting him get too far away so that he can cast spells.
You can do this a few ways
number one, is have one of your characters charge straight at him. This is made more helpful if you know where the traps are. Getting in close combat with sword and is a goner.
Second way is as I said lots of missile fire and keep him from casting his spells. Meanwhile the other characters take on the arches one at a time.
Remember one of your biggest assets is you can gang up on a particular dark spawn, whereas they will scatter their shots from one target to another. So a tag team of two or more of your party members against one dark spawn archer should bring them down pretty quickly.
Hope this helps
There's lots of different ways to deal with this particular little conundrum. Whatever choice you make is based on your character builds, spells available, and your own tactics;.
This is why DA:O is in my personal opinion the best of the series the combat is actually interesting, and not dumbed down for people on consoles.

I recommend using ranged combat first at the bridge
All your party should have a bow as well as their melee weapons
As you approach the bridge select your entire party and target the nearest bloodspawn
Concentrate fire of all on one target at a time
In this way reduce the numbers you face in melee
Also, are you using the pause function ?
You should be - especially in melee for difficult battles
I am playing on hard and had zero difficulties in the Korcari Wilds
All the rest has been brilliantly explained by fellow gamers...
