Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Persistent game crashes
Hello dear community

I have the problem that Dragon Age Origins keeps crashing.

I play for a short time and then the full game closes -> without any error message.

After that I can restart it and be back in the game within a very short time.

I've already tried setting the launch options in Steam so that the game starts under DX9. I also set the affinity to a single core. But the problem persists.

I have an intel core i9 12900k processor and an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card. I also have 32 GB of DDR5 Ram throttled to 4800 mhz (due to Intel's warranty).

Does anyone know the problem and can help me?

Many thanks and greetings from Germany.

I would start in the pinned topics in the discussions tab. It's a known issue for this game and not your rig.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you guys for the quick replies.

I have now switched to a normal 1920x1080p resolution, limited the process to a single core via affinity and finally set the start option to DX9.

Now the game runs reliably. Only had a single crash in two hours of gameplay.

Simple fix for me was to change PhysX config to CPU. Hasn't crashed since. I have graphics on high setting.

I had the same problem as the OP, and setting graphics to medium solved it for me. Running a top tier GPU and a Core i7 Win10 machine.

Try this too if you like the settings to be as high as possible.
