Crashing at Ostagar Bridge

The game crashes every time I cross the bridge. I think the problem is because I'm running the game at highest settings. Is there a fix to this outside of going to potato mode?

So I can get past the crashed zone by putting all my settings down to low but the moment I try to put it back up it crashes immediately.

Anyone know of any mods perhaps that fix this?

I'm actually going through that guide right now. I've tried running the game on one core but it still crashes at the same exact spot on the bridge. I'm currently updating my drivers and verifying my game files. If that doesn't fix it I'll give your LAA Patch a try.

I just dragged it into the bin folder and now I can cross the bridge. It works just fine. Thank you for the help ZDuke!

I had same problem when started a new game. Solved by deleting everything in Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age Origins except my new character in same folder
