Note: If you know the other ways in opening Device Manager go ahead.
Open up your start menu by clicking the windows icon on your taskbar, click "search programs and files" text box, type Device Manager, and press enter. Once the window for Device Manager opens, locate "Display Adapters", click the arrow beside it to bring down a list, right click the intel option, and click "Disable".
If the problem still persists after doing so, let me know, and we will try something else. Just the same if you are unable to disable it via Device Manager.
to such an investment. No harm would come of your investment though I assure you. You could always enable the integrated graphics at any moment via System BIOS or Safe Mode, which I'll instruct on how to do so if need be.
I will gladly provide an option of a few more none extreme methods. Here is one of the options, I listed it into 4 segments. Let me if you have any questions or in need of clarification.
1. Go into your start menu, and click "PC Settings". Once the window for "PC Settings" or "Windows Settings" appears, type "Graphic Settings" in the "Find a setting" text box, and click the result "Graphic Settings".
2. Once you are in the window of "Graphic Settings", click the "Browse" if the drop box above "Browse" is labeled "Classic app", and locate "DAOrigins.exe" in your game install folder/bin_ship.
3. You will see the game now listed below "Browse", click the game, make sure it has an address simillar to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\bin_ship" and click "Options".
4. Once in the "Options" or "Graphics specifications" which should show your gpu under "High Performance", click "High performance", and click "Save".
If this one doesn't solve your issue, we will try something else.
I applies the gpu change in Nvidia Control Panel for both, that is, global settings and daorigins.exe.
I left clicked DAOrigins.exe, then chose option "Use Graphic Processing?" (i am trying to translate it from Finnish version, sorry!), then below that you get an option "Integrated Graphic?" and that allowed me to launch the game with the graphic settings i use.
Thanks danielrutgers, glad I was able to be of assistance to your issue. If in need of further assistance, let me know, and I will reply as soon as I am able.
Brooooooooooooooo, this fixed it for me. Thank you so much!
Don't normally reply to old threads, but this fixed it for me after an hour of messing around with options and EA support telling me to rewrite code. Thanks for getting me a work around for this older game.
Adding on to say after hours of searching this fixed it right as I was about to give up!!!

This resolved the issue - I tried to force my RTX 3070 via the config menu AND via Windows 11 as well as running the game via all sorts of compatibility settings but until I disabled the native GPU nothing worked.
