Your only alternative to keeping a Rogue around is with mods. Lock Bash https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/301 is popular (among others).
Exceptions:
Random encounters
Lothering after completing a main quest
Ostagar (DLC) after completing Return to Ostagar DLC
Warden's Keep (inside) after completing Warden's Keep DLC
Fade (but there's no loot anyway)
Anvil of the Void (entrance gets blocked off)
Alleys/Estates in Denerim*
The alley locations disappear from the map once you've completed certain quests involving them. I think it might be possible to mess up and leave Blood of Warning (Mage Collective) and Notices of Death (Blackstone Irregulars) incomplete due to the alleys disappearing.
You cannot access the Arl of Denerim's estate again after completing Rescue the Queen. You cannot access the other estate after completing Crime Wave.
