It was torture.
It's worth saying, that DLC is the worst because it's a story that doesn't advance DA further, it has no difficult choices to make, it felt like a dungeon delving typically to ESO's dull dungeon delves.
I think that being a mage would make it easier, to spam heal tank companion and use another character to switch levers to get rid of cannon fodder enemies.
I mage, and kill me in 3 seconds, the other members 10 second... When attack me 5-6 golems...
Also Golems expects you to import a geared character since the gear a newly created character kind of sucks.
Origins > Awakening > Golems of Amgarrak > Witch Hunt
With Lelianas Song technically being before Origins, and Darkspawn Chronicals i dunno just whenever.
Golems though is ultimately challenge driven. Unlike the others which is built around story, Golems is more of a challenge dlc meant to give the players one final brutal challenge for their Warden to overcome. Theres a reason defeating the end boss on high difficultly gives the player an incredible weapon worth hundreds of sovereigns right at the beginning of any new game.
Expect to get utterly smashed if your playing a new character or coming in right out of Origins.
