MIssing Child Error

I've played this game countless times on PS3, but this is my first time on PC, and for some reason i cant mention returning the family sword back to Katelyn, I reloaded saves countless times, over and over, trying all dialog, and nothing works. Anyone dealing with this?? is there a solution? Am i gonna have to use Dragon age Keep to fix this?

Use the wiki just look up her or her quest it has some guide in case you missing something on accident and note on when to make sure you do it etc...

Otherwise highly highly doubt but mods?

I didn't even know there was a way to return the sword to her. Just give her enough gold to enable her and her brother to get out of town before the Darkspawn arrive. She can't really use the sword anyway.

The quest is here[dragonage.fandom.com] on the Wiki. There are lots of different ways it can go, depending on the exact timing of doing steps before and after the battle in Redcliffe, and possibly what level of Coercion you have.

trust me, ive done everything i can. Im max level at Coercion. Again, ive played this game over million times on PS3, i basically memorized every quest. I know for a fact once you return to Kaitlin after finding Bevin and take the sword from the chest, there should be a dialog option "About the sword I found in your home..."
Which is not showing up for me.
Im have a wild guess that the game glitched out I because I did this Quest before I did any preparations to defend redcliffe.
But now i have a differnrt problem. I Verified the files cause i thought that maybe the reason, but led to a worse problem
Now I suffer from 3 types of constant crashes

1. whenever I load my Save, it will freeze and crash
2. it crashes when I leave a Area
3. Will Crash Mid-game (happened when I loaded a save during the Village attack)

While the graphics crash is usually a problem in Denerim or sometimes Ostagar, you may give this a try and see if it works. Go to your graphics settings, set textures and detail on low, and try loading the save.

OK so lowering the settings to low worked. So i decided that to test loading a save with the setting set to high as before, and it crashed. Well im glad im able load a save, id would rather have my high settings i had before this whole mess started.
UPDATE: just tried Medium settings, doesn't work either.
UPDATE#2: Turned off AA. put graphics high and texture low. Works. Looking to see if I can put my Texture on High again

1st Screenshot: My current Graphics Settings. Graphics set to high, AA off, textures low. Its doable, able to load saves and leave the area, but knowing i had better settings before irks me.

2nd and 3rd Screenshot are the missing child quest being wonky. I returned Bevin, have the sword, but cant bring it up in conversation.

Have you installed the 4G patch? That fixed all crashing for me.

As for the quest, you can still return it to her after the battle. Is there an option to say something like "can I borrow it for the fight"?

I have not installed the 4G Batch.
As for the quest, all I can do is get them to Denirem safely.

Just finished that Quest. only endings are to pay her for the sword. or pay her to leave. either way you keep the sword. and then sell it to the Blacksmith.
They don't / won't take the sword back.

I know for a fact you can give it back to them, it's just a common glitch to still have the sword
There 2 epilogues involving this quest

Buy the sword:
Kaitlyn becomes wealthy and married teagan

Return the Sword:
Bevin becomes a famous adventurer that recites his youth meeting the warden to others
