DAO Ultimate Edition contains Awakening?
Hi, I have the ultimate edition of DAO, does that mean I also have Awakening?

Yes

Yes. Start a new game and you have the option to pick either.

Not recommended that you start with awakening. It's like jumping in the deep end.
Without first learning to swim.

Not to mention Awakening takes place AFTER the events of origins and your character (and decisions made) can transfer from origins -> awakening but not the other way around.

Origins -> Awakening -> Golems of A -> Witch Hunt -> DA2 -> DAI

Best yet ignore the existence of Awakening that is best. Like the company and everyone else did.

I actually really enjoy awakening. Bugs can fixed with a few mods.

its not bugs that were the only issue; story, characters, senseability, lore, everything.

I actually don't get the option of choosing :( The game just starts normally.

I mean that once in the game and hitting "new game" it gave the option.
Does that not happen for you?

Yes, when I click new game, I'm taken to character creation, then the game starts normally, I never get an option to start awakening which is why I wondered if the Ultimate Edition actually contained that DLC or not. Is my game broken? :(

Does it list the DLC as being installed in your steam library?

For me, it simply says Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition. No separate listing for any of the DLC, Other games, like Fallout New Vegas or Just Cause 2 have separate listings/checkboxes for each DLC.

In Ultimate Edition after pressing play you get taken to the Dragon Age Origins launcher. At the launcher you can click on "Other Campaigns" that gives you the choices Witch Hunt, Awakening etc.
You can start any of those with a new character or import an origins character with the decisions you made. Importing is best, as your character and everything they have in inventory starts the game. So you could start with the best gear for most of your characters. Starting a new character in awakening gives virtually no gear and limited skills and really tough enemies.

For me Other Campaigns is greyed out and can't be selected :(

What about the download tab ... if you can open that there is a heading to redeem code.
Also when your game gets loaded from steam it should start, showing your steam keys so that you can input that to activate the codes on the game launcher.

You seemingly would need to input those keys to activate it ... unless you have already previously used them on a different computer?

Oh wow, I never redeemed the code! There is a problem though, when I try to do it, the game opens a webpage that fails to load: http://go.bioware.com/dragonage/redeem/en-us.

Please don't tell me I can't redeem the code :(
