Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Anyone ever release a mod to debug Avernus?
I've played DAO and other Dragon Age games off and on for the past several years. They're always nice to come back to, lots of content. I recently reinstalled Dragon Age: Origins through EA Play on Steam, because it was cheap and I wanted to.

I forgot about one Very Important Problem: it's called the Soldier's Peak Bug.
Here's a link for reference. https://steamcommunity.com/app/47810/discussions/0/43099722218760162/

Basically, it is possible to get game-breakingly stuck when playing the Warden's Keep DLC. When completing the "Soldier's Peak" quest, it is possible to get yourself into a situation where you cannot interact with the clearly marked quest giver/completer, at all. You can't click on them. It's just straight up bugged.

There are various player-recommended tricks and fixes, centered around trying to disrupt the quest giver's path and trigger the event that progresses the game. They work, to greater or lesser degrees. But when you're playing an 11 year old game, you might not remember all the tricks.

I love the Dragon Age games, and I really enjoy revisiting them. Tons of replay value. But it's really surprising that EA never released a patch to fix this, since it's a pretty impactful issue to the gameplay in that particular area.

So that got me wondering.... Has anyone ever released a mod to just fix this, and I'm totally missing it?

This would be the mod you are looking for. To install, just follow along with the installation instructions on the mod site. Also, make sure to load a save prior to the bugged interaction for best results. If that doesn't fix the issue, there are other things we can try.

I would like to say it's awesome to hear such positive feedback for this game. Not that any other such feedback exists, but there are certainly a lot of those who trash the game. I too enjoy revisiting the series and feel it has such great replay value! It is rather unfortunate that EA doesn't put the effort to fix similar game-breaking bugs, but it's amazing that the community steps up and does their best to fix them! For free most of the time too!

Heck yeah! I'm so glad to find out someone took this on :) The mod community can be a great place sometimes.

I did finally get past him, but boy it was an ordeal and I'm still not entirely quite sure how it happened. But I'm going to bookmark that link for my next playthrough, because sooner or later I will come back and do it all over again. I love a game where choices matter.

Thank you so much for the kind words and the tip!

I know right? The mod community comes up with some pretty crazy good stuff huh?

Regardless of the mystery behind getting past him, I'm glad you did! It's definitely a good idea to bookmark it just in case. I get what you mean about coming back and doing it all over again. I always find myself playing this game over again plus it's sequels.

Your quite welcome and I'm glad to give you the tip! :) It's always nice to talk and assist someone who is passionate about this game! Feel free to chat or ask anymore questions!
