In Denerim: "You cannot travel at this time."

I just cleared a bunch of sidequests and then tried to leave Denerim, but it won't let me get back to the world map. Whenever I try, it says, "You cannot travel at this time."

How do I get out of Denerim again?

If you're in a building or in a random encounter area, fast-travel's not available. You need to leave the area by the door, which takes you to the city map. Once in the city map, select the Denerim Market. Then once you're back in the market, access the world map and you should be able to fast-travel out of Denerim.

No - I try to activate the main gate to leave the district. On the world map (where things like Redcliffe and Flemeth's Hut are,) everything is grayed out.

Then we may be looking at a main quest situation. Fast-Travel out of Denerim gets shut down once you start preparing for the Landsmeet. Have you reached that part of the main quest?

I don't think so. Only the market is unlocked.
