Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

Question about other campaigns
I am starting this game and will try on nightmare mode. How do the other campaigns work and what order or does it matter? Should I do the other campaigns then transfer my character to the main game? I am not sure how this works.

You need to rewrite that...

Other campaigns ??? Do you mean the other Origins (race/class) or 2+inquisition...

Origins doesn't matter they all great and personal taste (play them all in any order and then play them all again and again :) ) if you mean 2+inquis barely matters but 2 takes latest save of DAO and Inquis uses online dragonagekeep (can use O+2 info or make own).

Start with Origins, then import to Awakening, Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt. The other campaigns are side stories/alternate universe stuff.

Yeah i meant the side stories - I tried to start with one and it had me make a new character. Is it ideal to start a campaign in origins, finish then do the DLC campaigns? This is all about origins not 2 or inquisition.

Is it better to start on the DLC campaigns to get the items then do the main campaign?

They're completely separate from each other.

Got it, so when starting a side campaign, the character you create cannot be transferred to the main campaign? thanks for the responses everyone

I finished the main campaign and just finished Awakenings last night. I've done a couple of the other campaigns. Unknowningly, I started one of the campaigns while in the middle of the main campaign. It turned out that the story took place after the main campaign was over, so I stopped it and decided to do it and all the other campaigns after I finished the main one. That has worked well for me. I still have a couple more to do, but I'm guessing they will be the same.

You don't import back into Origins, but any items you earned will just appear in your pack. Some of them might make things a little too easy though. You should do Origins first anyway, both to learn the game and so you know what's going on in the other stories.

OO totally forgot/flew over my head;
Do all them after other then Leliana's Song later. (btw most if not all reward bonus items to bring into game some with required "side quests" like collecting every peice in Leliana).

Morgan's(witch): Really only need to do if you/your warden would after your game

Leliana: is prequel of her story so either during or before play (you unlock some bonus stuff so may as well be before)

The Golems of Amgarrak: really does not matter much imo but can import awakening/origin

Darkspawn: After beating 1x as it a minor spoiler for ending but is a What if warden didn't exist and you play darkspawn at ending

Awakening: last if want

hope you read this or similar and didnt just click them randomly not that it a massive deal.

Not indeed, as there is a chronology; it lets you import the last save from the previous campaign. The precise order is the one ADEC listed above, other than that Leliana's Song is basically a prequel, and the Darkspawn one is a mini campaign in an alternative universe, just make sure not to do it before you finished the main campaign as it contains spoilers.

ok thanks everyone, so im understanding correctly - each campaign other than origin and awakening, you are creating a new character just for that campaign, but it unlocks items you can use in the main campaigns?

If you complete certain quests, defeat certain bosses (sometimes on hard/nightmare). Items will be added to inventory of existing characters, and new characters will start with them.

I'm currently on my second to last campaign, so I can't speak for Leilana's Song (I think that's the correct title...although spelled incorrectly), but I have imported my character from the main campaign into the others. Thus far, with the exception of one campaign, you have the option of importing your original character or create a new one in each campaign. Although, if you create a new character in the first side campaign, I'm pretty sure you could import that character into the other ones as well.

already said (by after I mean after main campaign->and therefore can import).

Not really, with the exception of Leliana's Song, which is a prequel. That one has you playing as Leliana, and it's the story of why she came to Ferelden. The other ones allow you to use the character you made for the main campaign, and they're all set after the main campaign. Darkspawn Chronicles is a "What if" situation in which the Warden never existed and you play a darkspawn.
