my game keeps crashing

i just bought the game while on sale and have been trying to play but whenever i try and ester ostager my game crashes, i downloaded qwinns fixpack and started a new game but it still crashes in the exact same place and im just wondering if anyone else experienced this and could give some tips or a way to fix my game

Sounds like the common memory leak issue. When it occurs you could try loading an earlier save, temporarily lower the graphic settings and then loading again where it crashed; normally fixes this issue unless the cause is another, at that point you should be able to put the setting back up. It tends to occur in two places in particular, one being where you are and the other in a place called Denerim.

installing the 4GB Patch helps a ton with stability as unfortunately DA:O doesn't get along too well with modern hardware.

This a little old but I have just started playing old games again and dragon age I never had an issue with before even with the mods I use that have worked perfectly fine in the past (most of them just armour and weapons). It would sometimes crash randomly but a simple reload would be fine.
I have got to a point where it crash at the very same spot IE: The part where you have the dream of the dragon and then wake up in camp being attacked.
It crash every time I skip the scene or let it play out.
Could that be related to this memory leak problem and would this fix it?
I did verify my files and there was 1 error that was fixed but that did not stop the crashing.

Sounds like the same issue indeed, the fact that a reload solves the crash is a sign that a memory leak occurred; unfortunately Dragon Age's engine struggles with modern hardware.

Hello,

Whenever you want to run the fixed LLA, Windows tells me that it can't find a fmod_event.dll here. After that the window is closed and nothing happens.

Can you please tell me what I have to do here ?
I have copied due exe into the system folder of the game.

The 4GB patch should be in the game. EA should fix this.

EA won't fix ♥♥♥♥, I tried to get mine to work and it seems hit an miss sometimes it will work and then other times it won't and if it starts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up on a save then that save is dead.
It would be nice for EA to fix as you said but they won't do you think they care about there customers or old games?

I have the GOG version I setup years ago. There are some trick to get it going right. It is a good RPG though.

I've just gotten more and more confused trying to copy and paste over the patch as a larger version of DA Origins is already in the bin ship folder and I don't reallyw ant to remove that.

Tried doing the command prompt trick in that video but the game still crashes, mostly when i am moving to a different map.
