No meteor metal ore encounter
I'm playing my first playthrough. I completed all three DLC contents (Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar, Stone Prisoner) early on in my playthrough, and also completed 3 out of 4 main questlines. Still I have not encountered the meteor metal ore random encounter thus far, which is necessary to get Starfang. Is this normal?

It's random, it can happen any time really.

Try traveling the northern roads. I always seem to get it somewhere in there.

I know this is late but in case someone else ends up having this issue. I read that going from Honnleath to Flemeth's hut and back and forth has a better chance of triggering this. I went to Honnleath and it triggered right away the first time. This was fairly late in the game (level 19).

I've played games where that encounter never happened.
I've played games where that encounter occurred the first time I left camp, and I've played games where it happened very late in the story. It seems completely random.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are lots of high-value swords to find and you can't take Starfang into Awakening anyway.
Dain's Fixes[www.nexusmods.com] has an optional tweak that changes the odds of several rare encounters to ensure they come up in a game.

I always get it while passing Redcliff when ever ive played.
Usually going from the far right to the far left past RC.

but like everyone else says, its one of- if not- the most- rarest encounter.

Oh god, you are actually so right!! First time I went from flemeth’s hut to honneath I got nothing. But as soon as I travel back to flemeth’s hut from honneath I got it.
