how do you Install mods with the installer in program files instead of using mod managers?
I can't seem to get DAmodder or Da manager to work on my computer and I have yet to find someone else with same problems as so I've given up on using them. I saw someone mention they use the installer in the program files of DAO so if anyone knows how to do such a thing I would appreciate it if someone shared that information as I've been pulling my teeth for about 6 hours trying to get these mod managers to work with absolutely zero progress.

First, make sure the mod is meant to be installed by that method. Some mods (for example White Teeth) you install by manually downloading the mod, extracting the contents and dragging and dropping them in >My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override.

To use the DAUpdater, manually download the mod and extract the contents which should have the suffix .dazip (I usually extract to Desktop). A mod that you can install this way is "No helmet hack 1_6". Then, navigate to Steam\Steamapps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\bin_ship. Run DAUpdater.exe. Click on the button “Select Dazip” on the bottom of the updater and search the directory for your extracted .dazip file and click the “open” button on the directory popup window. Then, in DAUpdater highlight the mod by clicking on it, then click on the button “Install Selected”.

Two other comments: 1. Do Not use NMM, Vortex, or ModOrganizer to mod DAO; they won't work for any DAO modding. 2. If you want to give DAO mod manager (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/277) which is specifically for this game another try (some nice mods recommend using this) there is a user-generated manual at https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/939.

I hope this helps, and good luck to you.

Hi Fng8034, this is ZDuke17, and I will try my best to help you. I recently made a guide that provides detail on the matters of modding the game. The guide also includes video how-tos on the use of tools and mod managers involved. It is also open to requests for those looking how to install particular mods as well so feel free to do so. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1667889371

If you have any suggestions for the guide feel free to post them in the comments no matter what the opinion may be. I am perfectly fine with being criticized so that way I learn from my mistakes and know how to correct them to ensure best the guide is of great help to the community.
