🐺🌲🐺🌲 Korcari Wilds too hard? 🐺🌲🐺🌲
There is some awkward fights in Kocari Wild where you are greatly outnumbered and also being pummeled by archers. On Nightmare, I have to cheese my way thru it by doing archer pulls/ running away and then regen then finish rest.

Its worth noting there are only a few hard parts of the game and they are all in the early game. Some of the starting stories are really hard on Nightmare. Especially since you don't really have any choice in gear and lack of followers. Then you get to Kocari Wilds & Tower of Ishmal and it kicks your butt even with a squad of 4. Then Lothering is more chill, with Leliana, Morrigan & Alistair/Dog and better gear/spells.

Once you get to Party Camp, you start to become overpowered. Then you just get Wynne and Shale and become unkillable for rest of the game if you play right. Late game has crazy scaling and full inventory of potions to back you up, its a cakewalk.

*shrug* never really found the game overly hard on any difficulties the game came with. It is a pause tactical game so you can always pause and position your units where you want them.

nice blog opinion I guess? (though bit common in games and basic).

(I made new discussion, because there was no new discussions on this game in like a week.)

Kocari Wilds is the most challenging place in the game.

Also I should note that I play with free starting items DLCs disabled, which is big boost in difficulty.

Currently in Kocari Wilds with no mage since my main is a rogue with Alistair, Daveth & Jory. No mage is boost in difficulty.

In Kocari wilds, you can get a lot of hits in or even pull/kill enemies one by one by shooting them from afar with a bow. You can hide behind trees to make enemy ranged units come closer too. I personally find most of the fights in Lothering much harder. After that it gets better, as more crowd control and defensive spells become available.
I also play without DLCs or bonus items and I also havent played a mage for a long time, so I am talking from a vanilla rogue/fighter perspective.

It's not so much even that the Korcari Wilds as a whole are hard, it's those specific couple of encounters that are totally disproportional to the rest of the level. The bridge fight? You pretty much *have* to take advantage of strategic pulls if you're on Nightmare. I'd argue that's less cheese and more planning, but YMMV.

The game does have a tendency to totally screw you in early game if you don't happen to be playing a mage, though, yes.
