Gifts sold in camp over powered?
I think the gifts sold by the dwarf in camp are a bit over powered.
Was this meant to be? Just two gifts one to Morrigan, the doll, and the prayer book for Sten and their approval is almost maxed out! I feel like either I cheated or it's an exploit since they cost nothing at all to buy
Especially the prayer book. I'm thinking of dropping that - almost flat out cheating revives party members in battle? Was that the point of the gifts DLC pay money to cheat

Feastday Gifts and Pranks are downloadable content packs. Regular or even special gifts to your companions don't come anywhere close to that. They came with the Ultimate edition. Those are not the usual gifts. If you give the feastday gift to the right party member their attitude toward you will be +50. If you give the right feastday prank to the right member they will have -50 attitude toward you. At least you have the option to equal it out i suppose. I know I repeated several things you already know. Sorry if this wasn't helpful.

I'm early in game so I'm sure approvals will change but still a little bit OP in my opinion

Yes very much so. Am I allowed to give information that could be spoilery or not. I can give you the pranks to give them or message you with them.

Ok, well yeah those feastday gifts and pranks were never in the original game.

Other than that how are you liking it so far? If you do another playthrough I would suggest unchecking the feastday stuff in the download content.

I love it I should have played sooner. I just gave them some bad gifts to bring down their approval and gave the prayer book back to the merchant - I'd be too tempted to use it. I'm playing on hard on my first run

I'm glad to hear it.

Approval just grants 1-4 in a given attribute, hardly gamrbreaking. Also, the feastday DLC was released like a year after the base game. It's useful for romances and player quests.

ya there nothing wrong with the tiny bonus you get and good job on using the bad gifts to bring it to what you want.
A lot of the gifts actually are just fun to use (play special things) and even the equipment are just unique fun looks more then being at all powerful. (ugly boots, dog cone)

Um Allistair Doll and Qunari Prayer Book add +50 approval to Morrigan and Sten respectively and they cost nothing. Plus the prayer book can be used in battle however many times you want to revive all fallen parfty members - costs nothing basically a cheat
But not game breaking, one can choose not to cheat I'm stuck in Mage's Tower quest right now but when I get out using coal and rotten onions to subtract all that approval I gained.

Not a tiny bonus for Allistair Doll and Qunari Prayer book +50
There's also the pranks gifts that are -50 for each character but still what's the point of these gifts other than humor and cheating

approval bonuses is not what we were talking about that doesn't matter we were talking about the bonuses you get from approval which seems to be all you care about. And ya they are great and wish more games were awesome to include such things.

You seem to be itching to fight or prove something to someone. I don't care what you think, if you don't have anything constructive to say on the topic, don't say anything at all

you just said "approval bonuses is not what we were talking about"

But before you said "ya there nothing wrong with the tiny bonus you get"

I'm just saying these gifts are over powered. They cost nothing - especially the prayer book which is basically a built in cheat. I have no desire to argue with you about what I think or anything like that.

You misunderstand the last comment, nobody is arguinbg with you. the're just saying that the approval bonus is irrelevant, it's the skills and attribute bonuses that come along with it they were reffering to.
