Zevran - Assassination attempt
So did GoT copy Zevran into Jaqen H'ghar? They are a perfect match and sound the same lol.

Also it was impossible for me to get past this on normal mode @ lvl 10. I dont know how the hell you solo players get past this part. I tried everything i could controlling each one per turn lol. The archers and their damn staggering shot stun like 3 of us at once or w/e they use. The mage if not cc upon the first turn will obliterate the whole party nearly with fireball.
Party is Arance Warrior/healer - Assassin - Healer - Tank

Tried like 12x to no end - switched to easy mode and completed on first attempt. The difficulty spike is real. I think only way to do it on any higher difficulty would be to have 2 ranged with lots of wide cc while me and tank go toe to toe with melee. I mean their is like 6 assassin/archers 4-5 melee, 1 mage , zevran oO wtf.

How the hell do yall get past this on say hard or nightmare?

Usually am higher than Level 10 when I get to the assassination attempt.

I don't recall that fight being all that very crazy hard on hard (don't know about nightmare), but the whole assasin attempt becoming ally thing is nothing new was less common maybeee at time of dragon age origins making but it certaintly not created by them.

But I mean it should be hard they suppose to be top quaility assasins, honestly felt it was to easy and a insult :D though think that was part of point to heavy underestimate you.

How is that? I didnt intiate the quest?
After the battle i went to lothering - done all the quests i could there
Then i went to the wardens keep? forgot the name - quest started from after leaving lothering
"wardens keep" and cleared it - killed everyone. The mage boss took like 30 attempts!

Probably spent like 30min trying to kill this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with his squad of archers. Had to force field him instantly after cutscene and then try to get all party members backtracked to the furthest location it would let me which was in the little room in the back and managed to finally kite them to their deaths 3-4 per group. Problem was the damn boss mage would fireball instantly after cutscene and wipe 2-3 members out.

So after that i went to the mage tower and cleared it.
Then afterwards i stopped by the wilds to check some stuff
Proceeded to quest mod eleven ruins and thats when the Zevran assassination started during map travel.
Perhaps something i did started it?
Finally near finished the eleven ruins area which was stated for around my level 7-10. One part was extremely hard (boss with 12-15 mages). Managed to find a way to kite them in groups.

My main character has alot of armor and defense plus all the arcane warrior sustained skills and as much resistance as possible so far. He still seems to get hit hard though. Maybe i should stuck with warrior lol. Alistair outlives me at times and he has only the 2nd hand gear.

I went from lothering to the wardens keep to free it from abominations then to the circle tower - then quest started on my way to eleven ruins (mod quest)
Last time I played I went from Lothering to Warden's Keep, then Redcliffe, then the Circle tower, back to Redcliffe to resolve the main quest there, and was ambushed after leaving Redcliffe. Was like Level 12 or 14 by that point iirc.

You have to get the enemy mage first. She'll throw chain lightning and down your whole squad fast.

Any tips on mage build? I think i mainly just need to re-do Morrigans stuff. Keep the heals but focus on AoE damage? or focus on party buffs + cc - its rediculous how much damage she does with the first cold spell winters grasp? It chunks most enemies to half life lol - While me and Alistair hit like wet noodles but he has better hit chance it seems. Leliana holds her own for the most part.

At the moment my current strategy has most involved walking bomb on me and her. Cast on 2 diff mobs then kill them asap and watch everyone around blow up in blood and guts lol.
The mage AoE spells would most likely kill everyone with the friendly fire. Walking bomb doesnt hurt us all that much.

Only thing i hate about this game is that the effing skills have no descriptions. (Is there a mod to fix this)?

If you have a mage in the party with ice (to freeze) & glyph of paralysis (which also freezes in place), plus one of the big area-of-effect spells (like Tempest), you should be able cheese it fast. Group Heal can be helpful too, because it can heal squaddies without them having to pause their attacks.

Two years ago I recorded a playthrough of DAO, and while I micro-managed the heck out of this battle (frowned on by hard-core fanboys), I did complete it without anyone dying (Normal difficulty). 26:14

Im not a fan of using AoE spells that hurt my party as well. I mostly just want 2 tanky front lines, healer, archer to take out mages/archers and cover the healer. Archer also has a back pet and i mostly use the spider for the CC. Although i had a bug last night where it was bugged and my archer had 2 spiders. wolf. bear pets lol. Reminded me of necromancer.
AoE clusters up the screen too much and also hurts party members to much on higher difficulties.
As Arcane warrior i re-specd and went 3/3 light/cold since i use him to pull mobs with i can use those skills before they reach the rest of my party and i dont freeze my tank / etc.

just use aoe in further back or as a initiator like a popular thing to do is actualy cast it behind a close door and wreck the enemy a bit as they rush to it and then bam they are weakened and funneled.

No need for that anymore. Once i got my sustainables i needed for my arcane warrior he is officially a TRUE Tank.
I made it to Denerim yesterday and went to do a quest not sure if this was in vanilla game or not but upon traveling i was attacked by about 15 humans and like 9 archers in one of the town areas. Needless to say my entire squad was wiped out within mere seconds. I fled around a corner hoping to possibly cheese some AI so they wouldnt all come for me but i soon found out just how tanky i was. I face tanked 20+ guys with ease lol. Ill have to up the difficulty to hard now which is a good thing.
Those blood mages however are still scary as hell.

I dont use AoE spells - I dont like screen cluttter.

'Mana clash' skill can be a one-hit kill.
Doubtful.
A Game of Thrones, the first novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, was published in 1996. So Jaqens character is older than DA:O.
Furthermore, they aren't really similar in that sense. They're similar in the dashing rogue character sense.

I'd go so far as to say they're no alike at all. Zevran is a sexually ambiguous persona... Jaqen is a serious face changer. I really don't see where you draw the parallels past slight sneakiness. They aren't close to being alike.

When i first met him in game they sounded alike and the dialogue fit as well.

It's just a common themed character.
