awakening companions

so i resumed my origins run into awakening and i only have oghren and now veliana? (keeper elf lady) anders and howe were executed but im guessing they could be companions. are there any others that i can gather relatively quickly, im doing fine with my main as i have very strong aoe as a mage but am getting worried i wont have another big strong warrior as allister and sten are gone and wynne doesnt have time for me so how many chances do i have left?

There's Sigrun (rogue) and Justice (sword and shield warrior) left.

how soon could i get them? they sound exactly what i need, my origins run was me wynne allister and either lelianna sten or my dog, why cant i have my dog back?! did my dog die off camera or in the final battle?

Your dog probably did die from ingesting darkspawn blood (the flower from the wilds just helps with the symptoms, it isn't a cure)

You'll get Sigrun fairly early into the quest to follow up on the hunters who think they've found where the darkspawn are coming from. You get Justice towards the end of the quest to find the missing Grey Warden.

IIRC, Herren sells an Item you can use to respec a companion. So, you could turn Oghren into a sword and shield warrior if you wanted to.

Dog did not die. He comes back to make a cameo appearance in witch hunt. The codex suggests that he spends the Amaranthine conflict in Denerim.
