How to get all the DLC
2022 Update: It's been nearly four years since I posted this guide. It seems like you cannot see your CD-Key on your steam account anymore. I'm afraid you'll have to contact either steam or origin support for CD-Key if you want to add this game to the EA/Origin account. As some people have mentioned in this post there is still a workaround to get all the DLCs on steam. The best way I find is to download and install the DLC files from the Dragon Age Wiki page which can be found here:

https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Downloadable_content_(Origins)

The EA/Origin version is a lot more convenient because it has all the DLCs pre-packaged so you can install everything in one place. But if you can't get the CD-Key or don't want to use EA/Origin the wiki is your best bet to get all the DLCs. I've kept the instructions on how to redeem CD-Key on EA/Origin below for people who still have it.

2023 Update: The GOG version also includes all DLC so that’s another place you can play this game hassle free.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that the Bioware Social Network has shut down. Some DLC items such as Colletor's pack and promotional items are impossible to get. I have found a workaround method to do this. Although it involves using Origin.

Step 1
You need to have Origin installed with an account on Origin.

Step 2

Go to your Steam library and get the CD-Key for Dragon Age Origins. Right-click on the game -> manage -> CD keys

Step 3
Copy the top CD-Key for Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition. You don't need the DLC key if you have one.

Step 4
Go to your Origin Library. Click add a game, in the drop-down menu click Redeem the product code. Enter the CD-Key from Step 3 and that should add Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition to your Origin account library.

Ah. Well then I don't know. Only thing that comes to mind is launching the game, and going into the steam overlay. There's a space for CD-keys somewhere in there, near the top right iirc? Perhaps that would work.

But for the record, I have both a Steam and Origin account. I do not have DA installed yet (via Steam or otherwise), but was able to find the CD keys after purchasing it on Steam using the method Molay described. I don't know if I can just use the Steam provided CD key in the Origin application and just install the Ultimate Edition there rather than downloading it on Steam, then again in Origin like this guide suggests.

If you've installed the Steam version and have launched it at least once, Origin will detect it if you redeem the CD key, and, depending on your automatic update settings in Origin, 'update' it to the Origin version. At least, that was my experience. I installed all the promotional DLC the long way anyway.

What's weird is that I actually used the Steam CD key on Origin without even downloading the Steam version and it worked. So, I used the first key and got at least a DLC, The Stone Prisoner, but it didn't say I get any of the others. I then used the second key and Origin recognized it as DA: Origins and added to my games library on there.

Am I missing something with that first code, or does it just say that I only got one of the DLC, but I actually got all of them? (No worries if you're not sure, just thought I'd post a general question here!)

Why would they not have all the content in this steams ultimate edition? This does not make sense.

EA has a download link for all the DLC: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/dlc-for-classic-games/

Dragon Age no longer comes with DLC keys, even if you have the "CDKEY DLC" downloaded.

The promotional DLC isn't included with Origin's Ultimate Edition either, it's just available on Origin for free as Extra Content you still have to 'buy' and download.

NOTE: YOU NEED TO USE ORIGIN IF YOU WANT ALL DLCS. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THIS THEN I CAN'T HELP YOU.

Step 1
You need to have Origin installed with an account on Origin.

Step 2
Go to your steam library and get the CD-Key for Dragon Age Origins. It should on the right hand column of the game's library page.

Step 3
Copy the top CD-Key for Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition. You don't need the second one for DLC key at the bottom.

Step 4
Go to your Origin Library. Click add a game, in the drop down menu choose redeem product code. Enter the code from Step 3 and that should add Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition to your Orign account library.

Step 5
To look for any missing dlcs (most likely promotional items pack). Click on the game in the library. You will see Extra content tab click on that and check that you have every content packs. All of them should be free if you have Ultimate Edition.

Step 6
Sadly you have to download the game again on Origin but you should have all the DLC.

The above is unnecessary. The real solution takes about 5 seconds.

This is all easily solvable from a very old post in 2012 or something like that. You don't have to switch to Origin, especially if purchased the game recently and there are no CD keys under manage. Find your local content, open redist folder and run the 2 programs. That will link your content to your game.

go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dragon age ultimate edition\redist and run DAUServiceSetup_Steam and DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam

I tried running the two programs. The first one works, but the UpdateAddIns never finishes. I tried rebooting and running them on a clean system but the same thing happens. Is the updateAddIns not supposed to finish and I'm just supposed to play while it is running. Please help.

Didn't work for me either Ikjergensen, hence why I recommended some time ago in this thread to redeem your code on origin and get it there, as it will download the DLC for you just fine over origin.
lkjergensen 2022년 1월 21일 오전 7시 08분
Molay, do use your option, do I need to uninstall the steam version of the game first?
Molay 2022년 1월 21일 오전 7시 50분
Interesting question! I believe not, as Origin will install it in a different folder again. Can't imagine having the steam version installed causes problems, but I did uninstall here first when I grabbed it on origin with my code for a fresh install.
lkjergensen 2022년 1월 21일 오전 8시 55분
Molay, thanks for the help. It worked without uninstalling.
