It takes a bit of thinking, but it isn't too big of a deal. Fade is quite beneficial for your character, so I would recommend giving it a through search, before you leave.
And some sections of several maps cannot be completed till you have visited some of the others
In the end you need the 3 extra manifestations plus your good old self to get thru it all
you need the following order (Not too much of a spoiler)
The raw fade
Darkspawn Invasion
Burning tower
Mage asunder
Templar's Nightmare
then the rest
and as I said you will then be able to back track and finish the bits you havent done yet
I love making new characters, but I always dread going into the Fade, and I love getting the stat points.
I always beat him really easily. He's like a combination of all the other bosses you fight in there, but you get your whole party.
I don't get this; I understand wanting to skip it because it's long and the puzzle aspect becomes pointless once you've done it once. But I don't get why you say that you're weaker than the main game; with the extra form abilities and the instant heal for switching forms, my character was much more powerful than normal. And the sloth demon was a pretty easy fight, if you use your alternate forms you can trivialize several of his phases.
The fade is a huge pain in the rump. It's one big annoying maze. Dragon Age Wiki has a post on the quest for it that tells the easiest order/route to take.
Honestly, I did it *once* and it was bleh enough that one of my first mods ever, on my 2nd playthrough even, was to download and install "Skip the Fade." It is a mod that wipes the maze part and just takes you through the the rest of what you are meant to do in there, giving you all the xp as if you defeated the mobs and found all the codex entries and so on and so forth. It doesn't nerf the final boss fight in any way though...and that boss remains arguably one of the hardest fights in the game. :)
Huh? Tried to play this as a dwarf and found it impossible.
The second time I played it I already knew what was expected and it took much less time.
Now I just use the Skip-the-Fade mod as there isn't really that much of interest and it's rather easy once you know what to expect and where the toughest battles are likely to occur.
But you don't get the 22-2000+ extra points quicksaving, quickloading, and clicking like a mofo on the essence fonts gives you. Seems like a net loss, tbh.
At that point, why not just download the mod that gives you infinite talent/skill/attribute point books?
