Bugged in Denerim
I went to Denerim did some quests, and after a while the game just crashed. After that i tried to load the game but the game crashed. Loaded a previous saving, redid all the quest and returned to the camp. After that i did the Redcliff quest and the found the ashes of Andraste, then i decided to come back to Denerim.
Same problem, when denerim is bugged i can't open the map, if i do it crashes. I can't also enter in the building in the market district otherwise it crashes.
Please help me.

There has always been a crashing bug in Denerim, so it is advisable to hard save just before entering, personally i always go around the back alley to the center square, There are many theories as to WHY the crashing occurs but my belief is from a memory leak. Try hard save before entering, then restart the game and your PC. Then proceed , sometimes it works, and really i get lucky sometimes and go through there with NO crashing. Once in the city ok, quicksave alot.
Just a side note, i run 16 mods in the game and it doesnt seem to crash there much anymore LOL Go figure eh?

Hey im not sure if you figured out your issue or not but there is a tool that you can use that makes the game run on 4gb of memory instead of 2 which will likely fix your issue.

http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php

Just download the application then run it on your (daorigins.exe). It should stop the memory leaks if that is indeed the issue. Hop it helps

If anyone is still having issues with this or encounters this when playing through again, just turn the graphic detail right down whenever you're in denerim. It completely solved the issue for me, even loading saves that crashed before anything loaded started working.

Hi Rowdale, this is ZDuke17, and I will try to help you the best I can. Try doing the following fixes mentioned in the two guides:

LAA Patch for Dragon Age: Origins: The game uses a low amount of RAM/Memory by default, this patch gives the game the ability to use more RAM/Memory compared to default. This will result in improved overall stability/performance for the game. Recommend installing the pre-patched exe, but if you want to do it yourself, you sure can.

Set affinity for Dragon Age: Origins to 1: The game was desigined to use lower count core cpus compared to modern day cpus. This fix will allow the game to only use 1 core, which will allow the game to run as intended, while fixing various upon various in-game issues. Skim the guide to the section labelled "Frequent Crashes" and follow the instructions.

If those fixes do not help, let me know, and I will try to further assist you.

Super @Crankganker !! you solve the problem. In fact each time I tried to load a save where the clothering where instable the game crashed. Generally that happend in Denerim. With this patch, all is ok.
