Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition

[SOLVED] Dragon Age: Origins - Not starting due to ASLR exploit mitigation in Windows 10
SITUATION::
I've been running Windows 10 as securely as I can. Therefor I've enabled "Force randomization of images (Mandatory ASLR)" in "Windows Defender Security Center" (default: off). However, not all older applications execute flawlessly under those circumstances.

FIX::
If you want to run as strict security as possible (enabled "Mandatory ASLR") and play Dragon Age: Origins, I'd recommend making an exception for the game.

In "Windows Defender Security Center" select the panel "App & Browser Control" and at the bottom of that page, pick "Exploit Protection Settings".

At the top of this page, you can set the "System Settings" or make an exception to those. Chose the individual "Program Settings"-option.

Now "+ Add program to customize" and navigate to your "...\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe" and edit it's exceptions.

At "Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR)" check the "Override system settings" and set it to "Off".

CLOSING REMARKS::
Now, knowing Dragon Age: Origins is slightly picky when it comes to memory, those who have crashes, might want to try other exceptions. "Randomize memory allocations (Bottom-up ASLR)" is "On" by default in Windows 10. If you encounter crashes, you could explore an exception to that setting.
