Most of that comes with re-playing and knowing what is where. But for the first half of the game, (mostly) You do not really need to worry about it. You will have morgan to learn what skills you lack, and Lehana with her rogue skills. So if you take you, lehana and morgan and divide the secondary skills between the three of you, (so different secondary skills) You can start early on a balanced team.
Honestly, that was the only mod I had my first time through. Since then I've added skip the fade, lock bash, character respecialization, extra dog slot.
Like when you get trounced by Flemeth ...being able to load the save getting there, use the respec for your character to give yourself as good a chance as possible to win. Without having to play half the game to make up for several bad level up choices.
