Wardens keep help

So I looked recently at the dragon age keep thing and went into the wardens keep part of it and there was a choice that I did not have which was drink the alchemical concoction idk why I never got the option to do this but I didn't, is it something later on or what, I mean it's not big deal but still kinda annoying knowing I could get 2 extra skills that were probably good, how could I have done this?
