changing in-game language?

Hi there, if anyone can help me, I'd appreciate a lot:

I used to play DA:O from Origin in English, but DLC didn't work. So I decided to invest these 5 bucks at Steam. Downloaded it, and it works including DLC, but now all in-game text is in German, automatically set.
Voices are English, no problem. I'd definitely prefer the whole in English. I tried to set ‘locale=en-us’ in the .ini file, changed the registry entry to ‘en’, even manipulated ‘DALauncher.xml’ to set language to english (or not set to german), and set all regional and language settings for Windows to English/US (even the time zone).

I know that there is a thread from 2014 addressing the same problem, but it only says there's a solution, but does not say what it is.

Please, I still like this game, but the German texts are soooo awkward that I can't play it like this. Help!

PS: if no one knows the answer, I'll re-install the EA version, because I prefer original language to DLC content, albeit with a bad feeling about all of it....

PPS: and yes, of course I tried to set the language in the video menu of the Config utility, but there's only ‘de-de’ (German) to ‘choose’.

Normalerweise musst du des bei Steam auch einstellen, bzw da einstellen sonst stellt der des immer wieder auf deutsch.
Klick rechts auf den Dragon Age Orgins in der Bibliothek, Eigenschaften, dann oben Sprache und da dann English (Nur falls du es noch nicht hast)
Wenn du das machst sollte er die Sprachdateien (Text/Audio) runterladen
