Once you go outside hug the wall to the right and attempt to only attract the attention of the archers only. They won't be able to shoot you from that angle and so they'll be forced to push you in the corner that you're in. After you kill them you don't have to worry about additional damage from archers. Now you can use any of your companions to run over to the gate and have the gate open which @GodOfHeWhoSleepsOnRailroads said. And that will allow Ser Perth with his knights in to assist you (I did not know that was possible until after a while into trying to kill Revenant.) And then you should be able to kill the Revenant no problem with Ser Perth's knights swarming them.
WHO?
I don't have an useful advice here, but I would also like to know who is being described by each of these labels.
First impressions and whatnot.
As for the fight itself, the Revenant isn't the issue. The adds are much worse, especially archers (Archers are OP as hell in DA:O). Fortunately, they're relatively squishy, so attack them with Sten (who can take their damage) or counter fire with Leliana (who has an easier time dodging their shots if leveled properly). Even Alistair can rush them with a defensive sustain to make it harder for them to hit him.
Pull the lever to let Ser Perth in, it makes the fight considerably easier. The Revenant likely won't attack you if you beeline your way there. Then move to slaughter the Archers. You don't need to kill them with the whole party (except on higher difficulties). Keep the Corpses off the person you send, they have an annoyingly high hit rate and do surprisingly high damage.
As for the Revenant itself, your tank should focus on drawing its attention (don't expect to hit it often with Aura of Weakness), while your Mages (Wynne, Morrigan or the Warden if they are a mage) and your Archers pick him off. Position Archers outside the Aura so their hit rate isn't affected by it (Mages don't matter, since the staffs can't miss), and reposition any ranged character who gets pulled immediately, since they likely can't withstand the Revenant's full ire. If you've leveled Suppressing Fire, I recommend activating it for the fight, as its stacking debuff can really cripple the beast.
I recommend a Warden, Alistair, Wynne and Leliana loadout for this fight, since Alistair can tank, Wynne can sustain and Leliana can debuff, while the Warden does what his/her class does. I don't recommend Sten (as his defense is low compared to Alistair), Zevran (despite having access to Mark of Death, will have a hard time hitting since the Revenant can't be flanked or Backstabbed), Dog (who has better defenses than Sten but lacks versatility/defensive skills) or Morrigan, unless leveled in Flame Magic (since undead enemies resist Frost magic. HOWEVER, they can be shattered, but Wynne will likely know Petrify, a much more effective Single Target spell).
If you think this fight is hard, be prepared for the fight with Ser Cauthrian, it is a literal salt mine.
