Brecilian forest quest -- WHERE IS THE ACORN????
okay so i'm at the part where i am supposed to have gotten the acorn from the hermit but after checking his stump and killing him he didn't drop it and checking his stump does absolutely nothing for me, all it says is something like "there is nothing in the trunk that appears worthy of your time", so i can't proceed with the quest. Any tips???

Hermit has the acorn. You can trade with him to get it.

However, you should be able to take it from the stump. Sounds like you are hitting in to a bug in the code. I would recommend reloading and trying to trade with him for acorn, or grabbing it from the trunk while he is still alive. Both should work.

yeah i think i did run into some bug. you see i came across him before i even talked to the grand oak so maybe that was what i did wrong.

That shouldn't matter. You should be able to get the acorn, even if you didn't ever speak with Grand Oak. Which means that this indeed sounds like some script didn't fire at all.

i can't reload as i already saved over everything :/ is there some sort of console code i can use perhaps?

I have never used the console. I got the base game back when it was released and then bought Ultimate Edition from Steam, but never actually had any use for console. You could ask and receive 101 about Skyrim and Fallout 4 consoles from me, but I am very clueless about DA:O console.

Which isn't a big miracle. I only added mods to DA:O, but I never wrote any mods to it myself, so I never had the need to to get under the hood.
