Login or set up an EA account, Bioware is in the toilet now :(

When I got the game on disk years ago I activated it on EA site created a login name and pass. Just a few minutes ago I used my code from my disk copy to activate it on Origins, since they are basiclly the Steam version of EA now. I had no problems activating it. If you have problems with Origins you can contact their support by chat and they can activate it for you.

I was trying to install my dragon age: Inquisition game yesterday, which installed fine from the origin site, and I bought this game back during the summer sale and I had this exact same problem you mentioned. I had never played this game at all since I purchased it. Seeing as you cant open a steam ticket, and their support is non-existant(thanks alot steam), i went to the origin version of Steam/Uplay and tried activating my cd key from there. It worked. Apparently Dragon Age will no longer work from Steam(based on my experience in the last 48 hours.) But you can download the Origin program and activate your Dragon Age from there. Hope this helps.

Or you can just get the GOG version, whichhas none of these issues. Doesn't even require Origin.

www.origin.com

It’s EA’s version of steam and is free to download

I'm not interested in adding any DRM to my computer, and when I purchased this game I didn't sign any license agreement to use Origin, because there was no Origin at the time, so if you're saying I have to now install Origin to use the DLC I paid for that is both a breach of contract and false advertisement.

I will not, for any reason, install Origin. I suppose I have to refund now?

The instructions linked to in my first post have worked perfectly for me all three times I have installed/reinstalled DA:O on steam. If they do not work for you, you may want to refund it and get it on GoG which is DRM free.

It seems that few have installed that game from steam. OK first you will have to register (for free) on the Origin portal of EA. Once you log into Origin click on My Game Library and click on the + "add a game" button on the right hand side of the game list. Select the option "register a non-Origin game". You will be asked to find the file of your game (in the Program Files x86 folder, search for the DAOriginsLauncher.exe. Job should be done!

I bought DA:O Ultimate back during the summer sale along with a bunch of other stuff. I just got around to downloading and installing this morning.

From what i can tell it installed everything correctly, even all of the dlc without me needing to even enter the keys that were provided. I don't have an origin account and didn't need to activate or even connect to their servers at all. This means the dlc is included with the steam installation download.

From what I've read here on steam if the dlc doesn't install the first time, theres a couple .exe files in the redist folder found in the main DA origins install folder on your hard drive. Running both of those is supposed to install all dlc. They start with DAOU and DAUS in their names respectively.

So I recently bought the Ultimate edition to save myself having to track down my old Bioware social login details and manually downloading and installing each DLC. When i first launched the game i noticed the game attempted to send me to the old website to download the DLC "well this sucks" i thought. The whole reason i purchased the ultimate edition was to save myself from this work. The website failed to load anyway. When launching the game and selecting the DLC menu i noticed they're all installed anyway. Seems that bit at the beginning with the website is unnecessary

If you haven't already you might want to get the promo items install files off the wiki page. Some of it is pretty nice equipment. You'll need to download each item seperately.

Note: Some items have two versions one for origins and another for awakening. Download and install both.

http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_content_(Origins)

See the section on manual installation to get it working.
