It sounds like you've bought the wrong game. Do you play RPGs usually?
That's strange because i love Divinity too. Why can't you be bothered to pause Dragon Age yet play the turn-based Divinity?
Dragon Age combat just takes a while to get the hang of. It's definitely more old-school in how tough it is.

Don't listen to ol stick in the butt there.
I hate L2P replies to posts like this .... but DAO practically plays itself on Easy. I don't understand what's even mildly challenging about it, let alone "impossible."

That said, SlackerBoe's links should set you right if you're really to the point of cheating.
This should automate the party members to handle themselves effectively, even at Nightmare difficulty.
Eh... eh... man? Come on... Use some strategy in combat. To be honest. The maximum difficulty in this game is so much funn. Turn on Nightmare difficulty and start new game from start. Come on. Do it!!!
Tell us the order in which you played post Ostagar quests, if you will.
Your standard setup should include a Tank,support/healer mage, melee or ranged DPS. DAO does require planning your tactics as well as your equipment/abilities. Combat in DAO isn't dumbed down like its sequel, you need to experiment with stuff.
Wow. Really? A trainer for easy? This game is pause play. That is the game mechanic. It's not, run in, kill everything quickly. Pause play is the dynamic and if you used a trainer just to get through the story then you truly haven't played the game. You might know the story, but you have not experienced it. Trainers *eye roll*
I take it you don't like turn-based games either eh?
