29 FPS Max on GTX 1070 - Any Fix???

Hi,

I picked up a cheap MOH 2010 key a few months ago (for Origin). If I start the game the framerate stays between 40 and 50 fps during the logos. As soon as it shows the menu, it's immediately locked to 25 fps. When I start the story, it's still 25 fps locked during the cutscenes. After the cutscene I'm able to play but the framerate stucks between exactly 25 and 29 fps then.

I'm pretty sure that my PC is strong enough (i7 4790K, GTX 1070, 16GB RAM) and all other games, even other EA titles like Battlefield run smooth at 120 fps and more. So I assume that this might be some OS compatibility (I've got Windows 10) or hardware compatibility related issue. I've also looked at the multiple config files of the game but there's no setting that looks like it might cause some kind of strange framerate cap. The Windows 7 compatibility mode as admin didn't work as well.

Does anybody know what causes this problem and is there any fix?

The weird thing about this game is the stronger your pc is the lower the fps.There is another person on the threads that has 1080 and gets 15 fps.I guess it is because the game is old.I have a gtx 1050 ti and the game runs on 61-62 fps all the time.

Yeah, maybe it's really a problem with new card. I've seen it perform quite good on really old Intel HD units.

have the same problem, but my pc is a low profile A8-7650k whit Radeon R7 240 1Gb and 8Gb RAM. I cant get more than 30 fps and sometimes run in at 15 fps... if downgrade some filters can run it to 30-40 fps. Im sure that my PC must run this game whitout problems ... I try drivers reinstall whit DDU ut nothig ... its a shame in my opinion is a great game.. sorry about my english.

Yeah, I guess your PC ist just fine, since my hardware has the same problem. I'm running the Origin version. Maybe it's just a trick of the publisher to make people buy new games....

Try it with VSync on. I had a better experience with that setting turned on. I have a GTX970 by the way.

settings maxed out.

might be a sign that its time to upgrade your cpu

what the hell, you shouldn't need a ryzen for this game (not that it would help), any common i3 or even an old quad core cpu should blast this game away just fine

i didnt say he need a ryzen but if he's only at 30fps with a 1070 its time to upgrade to something faster be it intel or amd.

wait in my display options there was a 1080p 30hz and a 1080p 60hz. i don't know if thats whats causing it but i just remembered so it couldnt hurt to try

I was using an i7 4790K and now an 8700K which are actually >Ryzen 7 in most tasks. More than enough for this game, any old i3 or even FX would be enough for that game which makes it so weird.

Well I have the same 29fps problem on 1080ti and I7700k :D I tried everything I can think of and no success. Windows 10 Compatibility mode tweaks helped to raise the fps to 35... GPU load is at 12% and CPU load at 26%...

UPDATE: Problem is that the game hammers one CPU core 100%. Disabling Hyper threading gives 10 fps more, but still the last core is 100% used all the time. So there is something weird going on.

Its me again! Disabling Spectre and Meltdown patches (InSpectre tool) gives plus 10 fps! This with hyper threading enabled.

So this game uses 100% of one cpu core and disabling HT and Spectre and Meltdown Windows 0 protections raises the fps ~20 fps

huh i never thought the specter meltdown patches would bring that big of a hit, nice find
ive heard intel gets a bigger performance hit with the fixes but ill chop this up to a game that just runs better on older systems (its not the first ive seen)
