The game feels incomplete
Only started playing this yesterday, and am not very far into the game but I want to say what my impressions on it have been so far:

There are so many problems with this game, I don't even know where to begin.

First, I'll start by saying that visually, the game looks fantastic. No complaints there whatsoever.
I do have complaints though, about the gameplay:

-Most of the items you get do nothing and/or do not even contribute to the main plot.
-Tiptoeing isn't really helpfull, like, at all
- ....and running becomes kind of useless too when you aproach a monster since the gauge goes down so fast. ( If you are filled with adrenaline usually doesnt that make you run even faster ? )
-the quick save checkpoints are very usefull but you can only save after completing a chapter, and can't even get back inside your home to save when you, y'know, have a life and things to do and need to go afk. ( maybe saving at the big shrines would be a nice addition? )
-does feeding the animals really do anything? like, at all?
-a health bar. please, PLEASE. the insta killing and teleporting 439248093 times to the Jizo statues gets so so tiring.
Jump scares that insta-kill you usually work with games that use them sparingly, not in a game PLAGUED by monsters in every nook and cranny you can fit them into.
-so you can pick up rocks after you throw them but not other objects?..... okay

I also kind of have some beef with the fact that there is no music.
You could argue that it contributes to the kind of feel and ambience the game is going for.
but after a few hours it just becomes....bland.
A game with no music, feels to me like....a fishtank with no water. really

I have more issues also, regarding the writting and story telling. but I won't talk about those untill I get further in the game.

I’m on chapter 4 myself and pretty into it. Tip-toeing and running becomes a thing later on, some enemies require either one or the other in order to proceed easily.

I’m playing the Vita version and the item/start menu has a “return to home” button where you can save any time. Does the PC version have this? Do agree though that going into the house when you’re nearby would be a great addition.

Agree very much about the items not having much detail or relevance. The main thing I don't like is how there are some really creepy and interesting large monsters but it's hard to see them and moving in even a little bit closer makes for a quick death. Still enjoying it though.

This game loses its charm due to two main things:
- Impossible to escape deaths (the hidden dog in school comes to mind)
- The stamina system (you need to escape monsters, but you get instantly tired if you feel one is at least 1km away from you.)

So it goes from "ah ghost!" to "ah, i died... again.... for the 42526 time...." too quickly.

Exploration is just for achievements. You can get a single music track by getting all Parts and making the Radio. You can also get the "Full Map" after getting all puzzle pieces (or all items). Nothing useful during the main run per se.

You can actually escape the deaths you just have to have lightning quick relfexes (which you won't have because this game numbs the senses exploring)

The stamina is a pain in the ass but it can cause a few tense moments, like running away from the monster that will follow you nonstop until you get about 5ft away from it only to bump into another monster while trying to escape

Tip-Toeing does not become a thing, ever. All it does is cause you to strafe while moving slightly slower. If an enemy looks for you based on sight, they'll still find you. If it's one based on sound, then they won't find you regardless if you're tip-toeing or not, only if you start running next to them.

I agree with you, this game feels rushed or something. I really never found a use for the rocks except for attracting the ear spirits momentarily. Now that I think of it, what was the point of any of the usable items in the game? the cat treats and salt especially. the only one you need to use are the matches for that tiny, little section.

I feel like they knew the game was kinda janky and frustrating so they made it so that you could get an item, immeadiately die, but then keep it, facillitating suicidal runs or making the game's infuriating ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ less bad. It's already kinda annoying, but then they add in the monsters that are there entirely to ♥♥♥♥ you for no reason, like the four-legged sprinting spirit downtown that always pops outta nowhere.

All of that's to say nothing of the story, which also feels kinda half-baked. I knew it was vague, but assumed the notes and collectibles would flesh it out. I was wrong.

Have you played past the first few chapters? Tip-toeing becomes useful when dealing with the scribble-looking child ghosts, allowing you to keep your flashlight trained on them while you move. Otherwise they attack once you turn away.

the game is cute... really cute but its a bad design cause make game too well a punish game.. not for make you feel ok i will do it better now.. but feel.. i wish that place had a quick save.
